Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Brian Alexander has a big-time talent, enclosed in a small town upbringing. He began singing at the age of four in the church choir, and acted as the lead role in several plays. His wide range, high octave voice and Michael Jackson dance moves had him being called "Little Michael", and he recorded his first song at age eight. Brian developed into a performer doing shows with the choir at other churches and holiday events around the city.
As he got older, the peer-pressure of junior high began to take its toll on the young singer. Embarrassed of being the only male left in the group of 10, Brian dropped out of the choir at the age of 15. He soon forgot his talent and history as a singer, as he focused more on school. Three years later, B. Alexander found himself with no sense of who he was. Out of the church for a few years, his purpose in life was lost, and he returned to the church to find himself. At home or in the car, he would listen to Jodeci, R. Kelly, Dru Hill, Joe, Boyz II Men, Blackstreet,Silk, Ginuwine, Usher, Maxwell, and others, as he longed to be an entertainer like them.
R & B music took over so much of his mind that he switched his college classes from computer oriented ones to fine arts classes such as acting, dancing and singing. With the love for music resurrected, he began to write songs while working third shift. After an emotionally and financially disastrous partnership with a local label, Brian Alexander decided to venture into the music scene alone, on his own terms... hence the title of his debut album, "MY RHYTHM, MY BLUES, MY RULES"
"My Rhythm..." is a project that was concocted of the artists that B. Alexander is influenced by. 17 tracks, along with a bonus track, show his creativity and talent as a songwriter. The ENTIRE album was written solely in his head- in this day and age, it''s hard to make time to do everything a man has to do, so Brian wrote songs in his head while being at his daily 9 to 5. Seldom satisfied with the work that others contribute toward his music, Mr. Alexander does not rush his material. "This album is better than anything I''ve ever done before it, and the next ablum will be 100% better than this one... I have to stay true to myself, though. It will always be about my rhythm, my blues, my rules."
