Joe Iadanza is a Folk/Rock songwriter and performer from New York with a sound reminiscent of James Taylor and Cat Stevens.

On his debut studio release, “Traveling Salesman”, Joe brings together a unique group of jazz-schooled, classically trained and folk-versed musicians, to craft a heart-opening (sometimes foot-stompin’) record that spans the genres of Folk, Rock, Roots and Americana; all while exploring themes of Love, stepping out into the world, and learning to enjoy the ride.

“Traveling Salesman” was released in August of 2008 and is being submitted for airplay on Folk, Americana and CMJ radio stations. A support tour of solo and full band performances will continue through 2009.

“Traveling Salesman” features the talents of Joe’s core band: Carolin Pook (violin), Craig Akin (bass) and Joe Hertenstein (Drums/Percussion). Also appearing on “Traveling Salesman” is “Gathering Time”, the CSN influenced trio of Glen Roethel, Hillary Foxsong & Stuart Markus. “Gathering Time” performs extensive backing tracks, and even takes the lead on the albums final song. Joe is grateful to have booked a guest slide-dobro appearance by David Mowry, which adds to the album’s timeless feel.

Collaborating with friends and giving these talented musicians the freedom to create from their own perspective is the key to the albums unique sound. One fan writes: “I really enjoy listening to your music. I love the unique quality and feel of it. Can’t truly label it anything… can you? But it’s smart, and catchy and musical. I really enjoy multiple listening which is really quite the compliment. Just wanted you to know how happy it made me to hear your talents at work.”

From 2004 to 2006, Joe toured extensively in the North East as a solo artist playing under the pseudonym “Joe Songwriter”. His catchy, percussive finger-style grooves and soaring poetic vocals moved him quickly from NYC open mics to full sets in recognized clubs up and down the East Coast. Prior to 2004, Joe took an unanticipated eight-year break from music, only to re-emerge with a more spirit-centered approach to life and a meditative insight which he now uses to better tap into creativity.

“Thank Heaven, Joe had an epiphany and returned to music after a long absence. The world is better for his having realized his talent.” (https://www.tradebit.com)
