ABOUT THIS CD: The Co-Writers and musicians on this album are all World Class Players. Collaborators: Michael Leon, was last known to be Music Editor for Disney Studios and an expert keyboardist/composer in his own right. Joe Wheeler was last known as music conductor for several years with International Star Anita Sarawak. Mark Vincent for years was Wayne Newtons Copyist and guitarist and currently owns and operates Multi Media Muzik in Riverside, CA. Jerome Lopez is know as the leader of the music act known as "Santa Fe." This is the band that set the standard for all performers who play the lounges throughout the gaming industry. He performed years as Ricky Martins guitarist, and worked for Clint Holmes who is a Vegas Legend. His vocal performance on 2 of the songs give credence to his title as one of the "Most Soulful Singers Around". Other noteable artists that appear on this CD are Althea Burkhalter of "The Emeralds", Priscilla Dea formerly of Lee Greenwood, a duet by Bobby Wade from Little Anthony & The Imperials with International Singing Star, Maddy Fiella. Gospel singer Melba Moore and Grammy winner, Larry Hart, lent their talent to the production of "All My Life." Many other GREAT musicians contributed their time and talent to this production which are too numerous to mention, but all are deeply appreciated and respected within the music industry.
ABOUT THIS ARTIST:
John was named after his Grandfather, Johnny "Ukulele" Kaaihue, The Worlds Most Reknowed Master Of The Ukulele. Johnnys father, Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole was the last Hawaiian Royal to be buried in Hawaii in full Regalia with a Hawaiian Royal Honor gaurd procession in 1959. The Kayes are all relatives of the Royal Hawaiian family of Hawaii. Johns father, Norman Kaye is the State Poet Emeritius of Nevada and he wrote songs for many celebrities including Johnny Mathis and Perry Como. Johns Aunt, Mary Kaye is "The First Lady Of Rock" and the namesake of The Mary Kaye Stratocaster Fender Custom Guitar. This was the first custom guitar made by Leo Fender and the first guitar ever named after a person. Her group The Mary Kaye Trio are the Pioneers of The Las Vegas Lounge Scene. They created the first ever late night lounge act in Las Vegas. She was also inducted into The Musicians Hall Of Fame with Ella Fitgerald and Sarah Vaughn by Louis B. Armstrong in 1961. She was also one of the top female jazz guitarists of all time. Sadly, she passed away at the age of 83 on February 17th, 2007. She was Johns mentor and mother.
Johns Cousin and Brother, Jay Kaye is the Blue Messiah of Spain and one of the most flawless guitar players alive. Cousin Henry Kapono is 1/2 the famous duo named Cecilio and Kapono. He is also known as the Wild Hawaiian.
John is also prolific as lead singer/songwriter of his Rock group, "The Overlords", his Country group "Branded", his Smooth Jazz ensemble, Cocktail Nation, and funk / pop / R&B band "Sensation". John is also former member of world reknowed acts, Crossfire, Deja Vu, The Urge, and Turning Point.
