Details:
''JT Songs'' is the stage-name/alter-ego of Galway-based songwriter and performer John Tully. Acclaim for his music by highly-regarded artists such as Corkonian folk hero Niall Connolly and David Berman of the legendary indie band Silver Jews has presented JT with the opportunity to tour extensively in Ireland, Europe and the US, culminating in support slots at the New York leg of the Silver Jews'' sold-out tour in March 2006 and on the Irish Tour of 2008. He has released 3 studio albums to date- last year''s ''Distractions of an Age'' (2007, Laredo Records) and ''Songs from Limbo'' (2005) and ''Songs out of Season'' (2006), both to be re-issued soon on Laredo Records.

From ''Inner Ear'', Galway''s Underground Music Magazine, October 2005: ''described by David Berman of the Silver Jews as ''an Irish Townes van Zandt'', JT''s songs and live performances are laced with a darker humour and sense of wordplay reminiscent of heroes Dylan and Cohen..'' ''Songs from Limbo is a collection of literate songs steeped in the folk tradition but strangely modern in their execution- **** ''

From Mojo Magazine website, December 2005 Feature: ''The best thing I''ve heard all Year'' : David Berman Silver Jews'' Pavement-approved poet ’(Songs from Limbo’ is) the best set of songs I’ve heard all year. His lyrics are ornate and encrusted and transmitted in a weaving burr. The music alternately reminds me of Richard Thompson and Rowland S. Howard. As of this writing his status remains: Undiscovered."

From Melbourne''s ''The Age'' Culture section, May 2006: Recommended Live ''Irish troubadour JT Songs has been taking Melbourne by storm with his own brand of Iyrical Folk-Blues… His live shows are fast gaining a devoted following… One to watch''

From ''Nashville Scene'' (Nashville''s leading Entertainment Guide), August 2006: Our Critic''s Picks ''Tully favors passion and urgency over detachment and irony- though his writing is literate, he''s more interested in making you feel something than making you think he''s clever. With his wistful voice and lilting brogue, he at times sounds like Syd Barrett reborn as an Irish folk-singer.''
