Kira Leigh displayed a unique ear for music at a very young age. Born
the daughter of two ballet dancers, Kira grew up in theatres, dressing
rooms, and studios, where she experienced music on a daily basis.
Having started piano at the age of five, Kira'' s longing for expression
needed further release, which came in form of voice. Kira always loved to
sing more than anything. And at sixteen, began formal vocal training.
Before she knew it, Kira found herself accepted into various prestigious
conservatories, and chose to attend the North Carolina School of the
Arts. Kira'' s passion for New York City carried her off, after college, to
perform at cabaret clubs like Don''t Tell Mama''s and Babalu. With such a
strong background, and so much experience at a young age, Kira Leigh
still found herself searching for her musical calling. Kira was a classically
trained vocalist, but truly wanted to sing contemporary music. On a trip to
perform at the Hollywood Music Festival in Los Angeles, Kira Leigh found
herself wanting to write and perform her own music. Upon returning to
New York, she began looking for people who could help her realize this
desire. Kira came across a producer named CT Tamura (https://www.tradebit.com), and discovered that they had a musical chemistry. This chemistry produced songs that fuse electronica with the heartfelt, organic energy of acoustic rock, and even drum and bass. The music is expressed with a searing and poigniant honesty. Kira''s impassioned lyrics, combined with a technically stunning delivery, made a huge impact at her debut performance at The Bitter End in New York City. Currently performing acoustically, Kira'' s style draws influence
and inspiration from the raw energy of Tori Amos, and the quiet longing
of Sarah McLachlan. She combines it with a modern rhythmic edge and
attitude that echoes Christina Aguilera, and even hints at the sensibility
of the ballad- minded Madonna. Kira'' s message is delivered through
clear melody, uncanny phrasing, and true emotion. She is here to leave
her emotional imprint in today''s disenchanted music conscious.
