"Witty, down-home troubadour" - Austin Chronicle, March 5, 2004, Vol. 23., No. 27

Greg Klyma is a home-cooked meal and a vaudeville show in a fast food, karaoke world. His music provides the perfect mix of wrist-slitters and side splitters. Good enough to dazzle the Americana airwaves and sharp enough to leave an impression on the eclectic college scene.

"He''s the real deal, singing about stuff that matters." - Sing Out!, Winter 2004

Greg Klyma is Not a Complicated Guy. He is a touring musician with no permanent address. He receives his mail in Cheektowaga, NY and is fun at parties. No Depression (Sept-Oct. 1997) dubbed him "An artist to watch as he follows inspirations and seeks to put his own spin on them." He has been described as a "singer-songwriter with (an) Arlo Guthrie-esque voice (who) writes socially conscious ballads and acoustic-guitar ditties thick with hippie happiness that assume audiences are both smart and able to laugh." His music is folk with a back beat.

2005 South Florida Folk Festival Song Contest Finalist

"He spins meandering tales on a long loved acoustic that bring us to that point where we realize the glass is half empty and half full at the same time."
- Performing Songwriter, June 2004

Instruments: guitar, mandolin, voice, harmonica

Discography: New Clothes (2000), In the Meantime (2001), Not a Complicated Guy (2003)

Greg''s most recent CD release, 2003''s Not a Complicated Guy, has been reviewed in Sing Out!, Performing Songwriter, and the Austin Chronicle among other publications. Tracks from the recording have been broadcast on Acoustic Café, the Midnight Special and numerous folk programs throughout North America. The Acoustic Café named him their "One to Watch" feature artist in June 2003. He has opened for luminaries such as Todd Snider, Ramblin'' Jack Elliott, Fred Eaglesmith, & Jimmy LaFave in venues including Club Passim, Beachland Ballroom, Eddie''s Attic, The Ark and the Cactus Cafe.

In December 2004, Klyma made Austin, TX his home base, despite the famous P.O. Box in the Land of the Crabapple. Greg returned to the studio in February 2005 to begin work - this time with a band - on the follow up to his well-received 2003 release.

IN THE MEANTIME: Acoustic-based, lyrically orientated, blue collar observations about life in general, with a definite country (Waylon and Willie) and folk-rock (Dylan, Petty, Young) bent.

This recording is stripped bare. Acoustic guitars carry the bulk of it, with a couple of stand out tracks picked out on the mandolin. Song styling varies from topical pop and bluegrass swing to a fingerpicked ditty about a bad ''b'' western...

Also available at CD Baby: Not a Complicated Guy (2003) and New Clothes (2000)

John Brady, an immensely talented musician who had a great deal to do with the production of this recording, has a fine album of his own available here at CD Baby. Check him out at https://www.tradebit.com
