ABOUT THE ALBUM:
MIRROR, the debut solo album from Kevin McMahon, is an eclectic mix of pop standards, contemporary theatre music, traditional favorites and original material. With songs by such diverse composers as Harry Chapin, Grammy winner Dale Gonyea, Glenn Mehrbach, James J. Mellon, Roy Orbison, David Snyder, Stephen Sondheim and Stevie Wonder, the album spans the gamut from show music ("I Remember" and "New Hampshire Nights" ) to country ("Love, Me" and "Crying") to classics ("Downtown" and "Danny Boy"). Each of these songs feature the expressive tenor of Kevin McMahon, who has been hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as "one of the best ''unknown'' voices." Produced and arranged by David Snyder, who also contributes piano, the CD boasts the talents of Mary Anne Steinberger (cello), Domenic Genova (bass), Vanessa Brown (percussion) and the background vocals of Scott Dreier and David Humphrey.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Theatre veteran, Kevin McMahon, has spent the last two decades performing in some of the nation''s most prestigious and respected venues. For nearly two and a half years he costarred as "Jinx" in the record breaking San Diego production of FOREVER PLAID and continues to perform the role throughout the country. Kevin was featured in the Broadway National Tour of the Tony Award winning musical CITY OF ANGELS and the Off-Broadway revival of LITTLE MOON OF ALBAN and was recently seen in THE ROAR OF THE GREASEPAINT... (Starlight Musical Theatre), SWEET CHARITY (Moonlight - Robby Award Nomination), CRAZY FOR YOU and ME AND MY GIRL (Musical Theatre West), CHILDREN OF EDEN (Utah Musical Theatre), CAROUSEL (Welk Resort), THE SECRET GARDEN and TITANIC, both with the CLO of South Bay Cities. An active member of Los Angeles'' Musical Theatre Guild, he has appeared in their acclaimed productions of SAIL AWAY, REDHEAD, LITTLE MARY SUNSHINE, SATURDAY NIGHT (West Coast premiere), EXTRAORDINARY - A TRIBUTE TO STEPHEN SCHWARTZ, THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM, RAGS, PASSION, THE GRASS HARP and THE RINK. With MTG, he is also the creator of THE HISTORY OF MUSICAL THEATER IN 42 MINUTES & 28 SECONDS and FROM THE PAGE TO THE STAGE which tours to schools through the Music Center Education Division. In addition, he has appeared in three productions of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (Ahmanson at The Doolittle, Gem Theatre and Theatre West), MARRY ME A LITTLE (American Conservatory Theatre, and Coronet Theatre), THE FANTASTICKS (Fords'' Theatre), SINGIN'' IN THE RAIN (Paper Mill Playhouse), AN UNFINISHED SONG (Charles Playhouse), GREASE (Sacramento Music Circus and Southern Arizona Light Opera), BRIGADOON (West Coast Opera), CINDERELLA (St. Louis MUNY) and LOVE OF A PIG (Andrews Lane Theatre - Dublin, Ireland). He is a featured soloist on six CD''s on the Rialto Recordings/Shadowland Music label (the only artist to be included in the entire series), BROADWAY LOVE DUETS (Peter Matz conductor)for Yahama Disclavier and has appeared in nightclubs, cabarets, film, television and commercials. Kevin is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory.
