Details:
The members of Lemons are Yellow came out of the burgeoning music scene in San Diego, CA. The band quickly rose to great popularity among fellow high-school students, with their off-beat lyrics, glam presentation, and punk-fueled sound on such tunes as "I''ve got a Hyper Dog," a literal showstopper because this part of the live set usually included a mixture of kerosene and chew toys. However, personal conflicts and run-ins with the omnipresent San Diego Police Department resulted in multiple lineup changes for the band. Guitarist Bobo Stock was recruited to reinvigorate the live show with his penchant for throwing sharp objects at the audience, but he vanished after a performance at UCSD''s Ché Café. During this time, the music scene in San Diego had changed dramatically, leading guitarist Paul Kaufman to come up with a concept for a new Lemons Are Yellow. Together with the remaining core of the band, David Fleminger (guitar, vocals), Kristin Martin (bass guitar, vocals), and Ed Meares (drums), they began to experiment at the outer limits of multiple musical styles. "I wanted people to either laugh or cry when they saw us," said Fleminger, referring to their use of frightening stage props and odd time signatures. This experimentation led to the crafting of the ideas and tunes which would later become the ambitious 20-song concept album they would call "Destroy All Music".

"Destroy All Music" is forward-looking, yet displays nostalgia for the heady days of the San Diego music explosion. Sit back and enjoy this album, and let it transport you to warm sunny days in "America''s Finest City". Lemons are Yellow will soon be coming to your town: when they do, look out. Their performances still Destroy All Music.
