Born in 2004, beneath the blue skies of Montreal city: a destined fusion of ideas and sounds, of words and notes, of intellectuality and the streets. Infinite Moksha stands by its endless will and incongruous desire to give back to the process of creation all of its meaning. It is, thus, by creative action that we denounce idleness encouraged by the established consumerist system. It is by art (Creation and Action) that Infinite Moksha as a group refuses to succumb to our preconceived notion of societal ideals and moral codes. Through the use of a combination of art forms, I.M. intends to be written down in history (whether it be worldwide, local, or personal). As a result, their works are therefore perceived in a completely different manner: the song by definition is not an ending in itself but a long and arduous journey in which the creators attempt to improve the state of things, starting with oneself, eventually overcoming the self, and finally, being able to reach a sort of utopic "Ăśbermensch". A song is more than a simple anthem with which one can sing along and dance to: it is a common ground in which any people can partake in communion with the universe through their will and determination alone. Nietzsche said: "Write with blood, and thou wilt find that blood is spirit." The works of I.M. are affirmed by such an idea: a selfless conviction gives meaning to creation, and thus, to life.
After having written a handful of songs, the group entered the studio in 2005, to record their first album, entitled "Fighting against the sleeping pills", a post-rock recital with progressive and grunge overtones, using a symbolist and bilingual poetry as a way of expression. Their music is a perfect combination of beauty and aggressiveness, poetry and philosophy, the myths and the mystics, leading critics to call it Nu-Goth (Mirror Magazine, August 2005). The songs centre on a major theme: the problem of idleness in the Western world. The album is meant to denounce the acceptance of the world’s apathy and speaks of countless suffering: distress, chaos, despair, and the loss of will to act.
After the album''s launch, the band began touring all over Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes. After the success of all three tours in Ontario, their unique east-coast tour and the multitude of shows they had played over the years, Infinite Moksha gained airtime on radio stations such as CISM (89,3), CIBL (101,5), https://www.tradebit.com, Choq,fm in Montreal, CKIA (88,3) in Québec, CFAK (88,3) in Sherbrooke and CHQC (105,7) in St-John N-B. The band is in constant evolution and finally has the experience necessary in order to achieve its goals. After over 100 shows, playing with other bands such as Rasputina (Columbia Records), Patrick Watson (Secret City Records), three times with Arseniq33 (Indica Records), twice with Subb (Stomp Records), twice with Les Ékorchés (Indica Records), twice with MAP (Slam Disques), Les Dorothée (Tox Records), Jet Set Satellite (Loaded Dice Music), Nitrosonique, Flatlined (Voodoo Records), Wintersleep (Labword Music), Midway States (Interscope), Sidharta (Addictive records/Univeral), For the Mathematics (Year of the Sun), Sproll (Quadraphonic Records), Les Frères Cheminaud (Disques New Rock), and many, many others, as well as three consecutive appearances at Unpop Montreal (2005, 2006, 2007), the band is finally ready to overcome all the obstacles they had encountered before. I.M. is currently writing songs and getting ready to head back into the studio in order to record their second album. The members of the band will undoubtedly do everything they can to make this second album even more relevant and experimental, reflecting all the experience that they have acquired over the years.

Né en 2004 sous le ciel bleu de la cité montréalaise d’une rencontre providentielle entre le monde des idées et celui des sons, le monde des mots et celui des notes, le monde intellectuel et celui de la rue, Infinite Moksha est soutenu par la volonté sans fin et le désir incongru de redonner à la création tout son sens et c’est par l’action créatrice que nous dénonçons l’oisiveté encouragée par le système consumériste établi. C’est par l’art (la Création et l’Action) que l’entité Infinite Moksha refuse la morale et les codes préconçus. C’est en ayant comme visée de s’inscrire dans l’historicité (mondiale, locale ou individuelle, peu importe) que le groupe utilise le mélange des genres comme moyen. La perception de l’..uvre ainsi créée est donc tout autre, la chanson en elle-même n’est pas une fin en soi mais un long et pénible chemin dans lequel les créateurs tentent l’amélioration des choses débutant par leur soi propre, leur surpassement individuelle et la quête d’une certaine et utopique surhumanité. La chanson n’est plus que simple ritournelle servant à chanter et danser mais lieu commun où chacune des individualités pourra entrer en communion avec l’univers qui l’a vu naître par le simple procédé de la volonté et de la détermination. Nietzsche a dit : « Écrit avec ton sang et tu verras que sang est esprit », les créations de I.M. sont appuyées par une telle idée, celle où l’acharnement physique donne un sens à l’oeuvre et donc à la vie.
Suite à l’écriture d’une dizaine de compositions, le groupe entre en studio en 2005 afin d’enregistrer ce qui est maintenant connu sous le nom de « Fighting against the sleeping pills » récital post rock au teinte progressive et grunge, utilisant une poésie symboliste et bilingue comme moyen d’expression. L’album est un parfait mélange entre la béatitude et l’agressivité, la poésie et la philosophie, le mystique et le mythique donnant ainsi le son Nu-Goth (Mirror Magazine août 2005) dont les critiques les affublent. Ayant comme thème majeur le problème de l’oisiveté des nations occidentales, l’album se veut une dénonciation d’une réalité acceptée (l’oisiveté) mais source de multiples souffrances : le désarrois, le désespoir, la perte de volonté…Suite à la sortie de l’album, le groupe prend la route et se produit un peu partout au Québec, en Ontario et dans les Maritimes. Après le succès de leurs trois tournées ontariennes, leur unique tournées des Maritimes et la multitude de concerts données au Québec, I.M s’attaque aux radios alternatives et universitaires et commence à tourner sur les ondes de CISM (89,3), CIBL (101,5), https://www.tradebit.com, Choq,fm à Montréal, CKIA (88,3) à Québec, CFAK (88,3) à Sherbrooke et CHQC (105,7) à St-John N-B.
Le groupe en constante évolution a maintenant l’expérience nécessaire pour arriver à ses fins. Après plus de 100 concerts, dont des prestations remarquées avec Rasputina (Columbia Records), Patrick Watson (Secret City Records), trois fois avec Arseniq33 (Indica Records), deux fois avec Subb (Stomp Records), deux fois avec Les Ékorchés (Indica Records), deux fois avec MAP (Slam Disques), Les Dorothée (Tox Records), Jet Set Satellite (Loaded Dice Music), Nitrosonique, Flatlined (Voodoo Records), Wintersleep (Labword Music), Midway States (Interscope), Sidharta (Addictive records/Univeral), For the Mathematics (Year of the Sun), Sproll (Quadraphonic Records), Les Frères Cheminaud (Disques New Rock) et bien d’autres, ainsi que trois apparitions au festival Unpop Montreal (2005, 2006, 2007), le groupe est enfin prêt à affronter tous les obstacles qu’il rencontrera sur son passage. I.M. est présentement en pleine période de composition en vu d’enregistrer un deuxième album aussitôt que possible. Il y a fort à parier que les membres du groupes feront tout le nécessaire pour faire de ce second effort une oeuvre encore plus significative et expérimentale qui peindra toute l’expérience acquise au cours de ces années de durs labeurs.
