"LadyBug may be one of New York City''s best kept secrets" Mubeeb''s Reviews

The unique power of self taught guitar, candid lyrics, and exhuberant melodies make LadyBug one of the most extraordinary and refreshing artists emerging on the music scene today. Audiences are not keeping it a secret any longer and are growing in numbers to hear the voice that savors every human experience.

LadyBug, born in Brooklyn, New York of Puerto Rican/ Ecuadorian heritage, began studying piano at age five. She taught herself to play the guitar at the age of seventeen, shaping inventive chords into her signature percussive arrangements. In 1999, LadyBug formed the energetic industrial rock group bLANk with drummer Oscar Dorta and worked her way onto the stages of the Bayside Musical Amphitheater, Groove Jet''s "the Church", the Hard Rock Cafe, and the legendary Churchill''s Pub. She went on to be voted "best female rock vocalist" by the Miami New Times in 2001 and nominated "best female vocalist" at the South Florida Music Awards in 2002, when she released her first independent C.D. entitled "Plug Me In". Her music earned her a raw living through Mexico and travelled with her through small bars in L.A. She has worked beside John Thomas, David Lee Roth, and the latin rock group MOXI and is currently studying at the Institute of Audio Research in New York City''s, Greenwich Village.

On stage, LadyBug permeates through audiences with a bold presence of playful vocal textures and quirky progressions. Her lyrics sketch broad scenarios outside an ordinary life while the collective members spraypaint infectious melodies with skill and individuality. A large part of LadyBug''s dynamic musical styling comes from old Spanish ballads and the nostalgic rhythms of salsa music engrained in her upbringing while blending the electric edges of punk rock with the impact of soulful interpretation.
