Details:
Dave, of the Dave Miller Band, got his musical start at the young age of 6. The drums were Dave''s first love. As he got older, Dave would sit and play the drums for hours to his favorite CDs. Later, in high school, he started to play the guitar. He never had the opportunity to take lessons, so he taught himself to play.

The title track of the album, My Tattoos, is based on Dave''s experiences growing up. His childhood home was one of stress and abuse. His father, who''s one contribution was teaching Dave to play the drums, was both verbally and physically abusive to Dave, his mother and sisters. His mother, more of a child than a parent, used Dave for protection and frequently threatened suicide. Dave often refers to his tattoos as a social filter. They are a metaphorical wall to keep people from getting too close. His tattoos are the scars covering his emotional scars.

Unfortunately, no one noticed the troubling signs of abuse shown by Dave and his sisters. His oldest sister was thrown out of the house when she was only 17. His parents made up stories about how she was a drug addict and forced Dave and his other sister to tell everyone that she had died from a drug overdose. Dave''s other sister, got married and moved out when she was 19. She was later told never to come back.

As Dave got older, he began lifting weights and playing football. His increased strength provided Dave some protection from the physical abuse of his father. Instead, he became his father''s workhorse. He would wake Dave up early every morning with some physically exhausting task, while he sat on the couch watching TV and smoking. During his senior year of high school his father took Dave''s cleats and burned them because he wanted Dave to stay home and work and not go to practice. Fortunately Dave''s coach stepped in and helped Dave buy new cleats and return to practice.

Dave moved out of his parent’s house after high school into a small apartment. He struggled to work full time while going to college in order to pay for school and his living expenses. His hard work and dedication paid off and Dave graduated with his degree in criminology.

After college, Dave traveled to Brooks Falls, Alaska in Katmai National Park to fulfill his dream of working with bears. He spent the summer protecting the people from the bears and the bears from the people. Since his drums were too big to take with him and his love of music was too great to leave behind, he took his guitar instead. During his hours of free time, Dave would sit along the side of the lake and play his guitar for the bears and write his first songs.

When Dave returned at the end of the Park season, he began playing acoustic guitar at local bars and restaurants. As time passed, the Dave Miller Band became more popular. Dave''s rigorous schedule is filled with concerts almost every weekend and often twice a week. Currently, Dave is in line to have over 80 concerts in 2008 alone.

Dave was even asked to represent Pennsylvania to perform in the 100 Guitars Symphony composed by Rhys Chattam of Paris, France at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport, PA. Despite the fact that Dave never had any musical training to play or read music, his performance in the symphony appeared on television and also landed him on the front page of local newspapers. It was an amazing experience that allowed Dave to meet musicians from various states and from as far away as France.

Dave has also participated in charity events and benefit drives. He has donated his musical talent to the Walk for Life and did a benefit drive for the homeless animals of a local SPCA. Later this year, Dave will be participating in a second benefit drive for the SPCA and hopes to someday be able to participate in one of the March of Dimes drives.

My Tattoos contains songs that show the ability of a determined person to overcome the challenges of life and pursue his dream. It is not a CD of sadness. It is a CD of success through perseverance and sheer will.
