Lasse Lindgren is a prominent young bass player from Helsinki, Finland. He has composed music for a new group of his own called Sunburst. The music of Sunburst is an interesting mixture of influences from jazz, pop and gospel, just to name a few. Lindgren´s compositions are highly melodic, radiant and energetic. The musicians of Sunburst represent the new Finnish jazz generation at its peak. Lindgren´s debut recording ´Sunburst´ has been released in the beginning of May 2005.

Lasse Lindgren became well know among the Finnish jazz listeners after playing bass on the recording Music of Olavi Virta by Jukka Perko & Hurmio-orkesteri, which was released in the year 2000. The record was the first Blue Note recording made in Finland, and it was awarded the Emma prize for the best jazz release of the year. Lindgren has performed and recorded with various jazz groups and musicians since 1993. He has shared the stage with Tomasz Stanko, Audun Kleive, Wayne Krantz, Anders Bergcrantz, Ben Monder, Marc Ducret, Christian Wallumröd and Peter Weniger, among others. He has toured in Scandinavia, Europe, Far East, South America and Australia with various musicians.

Teemu Viinikainen is a talented and virtuotic guitar player who´s style is deeply rooted in traditional jazz and blues. In recent years he has become undoubtly one of the busiest Finnish jazz musicians. He has won the annual Sony Jazz Prize in 2004; the prize is awarded every year for a prominent young musician in Finland. He is a member of the group U-Street All-Stars, the band which was chosen as artist of the year 2002 by Pori Jazz Festival. The band has performed successfully in various countries in Europe and in the US. Teemu Viinikainen has also performed with his own trio featuring the American trumpet player Tim Hagans as a soloist.

Tuomo Dahlblom is an agile guitar player who has been busy with his own projects and also as a freelance musician in the music scene of Finland. The major influences in Tuomos own music are jazz, fusion and Finnish progressive rock. He has also collaborated succesfully with many prevailing Finnish pop artists. He was chosen as artist of the year in 1998 by Pori Jazz Festival.

The pianist Samuli Mikkonen has made three records of his own with different ensembles. Finnish folk heritage and nature has had a strong effect on Samuli´s compositional work. He has worked with Kenny Wheeler, Anders Jormin, Audun Kleive and Ed Jones, among others.

Jussi Lehtonen is a drummer with an intensive and vital groove. That´s why he has been busy with various projects in the Finnish jazz and pop scene. He has played with Randy Brecker, Tim Hagans, Jimi Tenor and U-Street All Stars, to name a few.
