Having vacuumed popcorn and unstuck the chewing gum from the bottom of the cinema chairs one too many times, three young workmates decided that they needed some new direction in their life. They set their heart on music, the only place they felt could really channel their deepest and darkest emotions. They also decided they needed a guitarist, an awesome one, and after having searched high and low their prayers were finally answered by the internet. Hallelujah! Two guitarists were organised auditions on a sweaty December night, and after the first pained through a rendition of Monkey Wrench they decided to go with the other guy. Thus they formed DETECTIVE SOCIAL. Little did they know that they were to create the greatest band of all time. Or at least they thought so. Two years on, The ‘Detectives’ had played in many of their home town Melbourne''s best venues with equally reputable bands.
Most recently however, their attention was turned towards the creation of their first ever EP. Months were spent creating, perfecting and recording the songs that best caputured their unique sound. The end product was ''Tiny Victories'', a recording of which the lads could not be more proud; reflecting their journey and growth as friends and musicians and indeed a ''tiny victory'' for Detective Social and their listeners.
