Bassist Josh Bessom and guitarist Demian Talmo formed the band Drunk with Buddha (along with The Aislers Set''s Yoshi Nakamoto) when they were sixteen years old. Their folk/blues/rock virtuoso continued to grow in later Orange County bands Eating of the Mouse and Skippity Joe.
Josh and Matt Leroy played in the psychedelic jam-rock band Wonderland Junk for years. Junk arranged and played dozens of shows that helped to create a local music scene that was more open. . .and they performed with bands like Sublime and Real Big Fish. Matt played guitar and wrote/sang Junk''s songs, while Josh played flute (he took over as bassist when bandmate Long Nguyen from The Nuckle Brothers moved north). Junk released a warmly-received album on CD entitled Manifest Destiny (1997) that received airplay on community and college radio stations in California.
Lazy Preacher''s members have been a part of the musical landscape of California for over a decade. The years of songwriting, rehearsing, recording and performing (from San Francisco to San Juan Capistrano) have provided a solid musical foundation. Now, with the new collaboration between Matt and Demian, their experience has a new vehicle of expression. Their debut album is called Astral Project into a Time Machine
