Introduction
Don’t lose the truth
in the dirty waters of religion
and politics, or leave it hidden
in the chambers of darkness,
because the truth is a light for all
and you can find it in yourself, if you open
the windows of liberty.

I was born in 1965 in Nejapa, a little town north-east of the Salvadorian capital. I grew up with my great-grandmother, a descendant of the Maya. She taught me that everything gives love and never stops existing. She was happy because she always gave without expecting anything in return; her joy was based in giving to others.

Due to political-military problems, my mother took us to live in Costa Rica in 1979, where I lived between first grade and college.

In the end I’ve had to wait a long time for this recording to reach your hands, during which I’ve loved this art that I did not choose; the art loved me and put me in these circumstances. This is why I’ve had to play on the streets, in buses, in bars, at parties, and most recently at a public banquet in Venice Beach.

This album is not a framework to pigeonhole me in a single idea or a book of songs and stories around a single idea, because I’m one of those who fears the men who judge the world and everything in it from reading a single book. I mean, it is a carnival of sorrow and joys, a path of suffering through Central America and North America. It’s a universal insanity. I hope you like it.
