There comes a day in everyone’s life when they realize there must be more.
“Music was the only thing that took me there,” admits singer and guitarist Dustin W. “When push came to shove, music was the only thing left that seemed real.” It is this passion and love for music that brought the alternative rock band, Reality Addiction, finally together. All hailing from New Jersey, the band is comprised of Dustin Widofsky (Vocals/Guitars), Ben Antelis (Drums/Vocals), Jonathan Schevelowitz or "Sheepdog" (Bass)Robby Tal (Lead Guitar), and Noam Green (Keys).
In the summer of 2007 the band released their first self-titled EP, which contained 7 tracks. The overwhelming response of the release drew CD sales from all over the country, and over 80,000 plays on their Myspace in a very short period of time. This summer the band has been stationed in the studio, vigorously writing and recording their first full-length album; due out in September 08.
Through performing at just about every club, bar, venue and street corner in Israel and the NY/NJ area, Reality Addiction has become a well known act. Along with being hired by a large range of Colleges, Festivals and Parties, the band has moved up quickly with notable performances that include: playing with the chart-topping duo, Evan and Jaron (Crazy for this Girl) at the Schottenstein Cultural Center in Midtown Manhattan, performing at Six Flags Over Georgia with Natasha Bedingfield, playing numerous other Six Flags theme parks all over the country and many more. The band was recently featured in a band spotlight on a local TV program. "Jersey Fresh TV" came down to our studio for a very out of the ordinary interview. In the month of May, RA won 1rst place in the Alternative Rock category on https://www.tradebit.com, and 3rd place out of every category to win the $5,000 grand prize. (All credit to the street team!) In addition, the band had been announced as the first place winner of the 2007 EpicJams contest, which was won by getting the most online votes. The self-titled EP has already been featured on dozens and dozens of radio stations. (Please view below biography for a list of some of these) Numerous online magazines and local newspapers have interviewed and featured RA, including one in New Jersey where they stole a spot on the front page!
Their music has been said to have grown beyond anyone''s expectations, with a certain rare intensity and meaningful quality to every song. The band takes a special pride in offering more then just music; but a message. The support of the fans and drive to inspire has kept this band alive through the good times and the bad.
