Details:
It was the year 1995, two high school friends Ian Leary and Eric Seevers, who shared an equal passion for music decided to take matters into their own hands and create the kind of music that could never be conceived let alone tolerated in their hometown of Parkersburg, West Virginia. The bands name was Loaded and after their first public performance in May 1995, Loaded quickly commanded the respect of their contemporaries by displaying skills and talent coupled with a clear and uncompromising vision that had been inevitable due to the years of instruction that each member received in the years preceding this union.
Founding members Vocalist/Lyricist- Ian Leary and Guitarist/Songwriter- Eric Seevers paired with Bassist- Sean Eddy and Percussionist- Mark Hayhurst who in the short years of their existence released two studio demos, (The American Scheme) 1995, (The Present Wake) 1996, performed countless gigs perfecting their skills, interacting with club owners and learning about the business. After three years of gigging and networking with limited success, in 1997 Sean decided to leave the band to pursue a career in the military, and Mark pulled out wanting to further his Education at Marshall University, two hours from home. Loaded was no more. Not to let anything deny their determination, Eric and Ian knew this wasn''t the end, but just another beginning.
After a year of resolve LIECUS was formed in September of 1998, with Ian and Eric assuming their accustomed roles in the group. Adding Bassist- J.T. Jones and Percussionist- Dan Cole. With all the combined influences LIECUS immediately set out to map their course. "Destroy All Nonbelievers" released in 1999 was the bands first crack in the studio as the new lineup. LIECUS''s sound and power soon began to take shape, capturing fans with their dynamic and dominating live performance; LIECUS quickly drew the loyalty of many supporters.
In November of 2000 the band knew it was time to take things a step further. LIECUS began recording their debut full-length album "What Have They Come For". For the next year LIECUS pieced this album together with their own money time and resources. "What Have They Come For" was finally released in October 2001, and served as a testimony to everything the band was about and stood for. Just as everything started falling into place, the path of LIECUS was once again plagued with more trials and tribulations. After four years as a unit, Ian and Eric found themselves in the midst of another lineup change, with the departure of Jones and Cole in March of 2003. LIECUS quickly rebounded, by reforming with longtime friend and (Loaded) Percussionist- Mark Hayhurst and Bassist- Jim Pierce (formally of Blind Tempest), A Pennsylvania native who we had met through previous gigs on the road.
After extensive sessions honing the new found talents that would become what is LIECUS today, the group found the time to get back to the studio and put together the most solid recording LIECUS has produced yet. "Hypocrite" was ripped from the souls of the current lineup and burned to life in April of 2004, beginning a new chapter in the book of LIECUS, a revelation of new creative infinities. Fusing all energy and influences into one solid mass of power and energy, this is the new LIECUS; overcoming adversity while maintaining a focus on what is real and true, the music!
