Details:
Greg Walsh is solo piano/vocalist/songwriter performing mostly blues/soul, but also with many varied influences shining through. Previously being a full time professional piano/vocalist doing mostly covers, but now with the focus as an original songs/compositions musician. The strong yearning to do more original music has finally broken through.

He has a solid history of variety, from classically trained pianist with LTCL, to band keyboardist, to solo all original synth/vocalist with self produced cassette "Duck Noises". In 1997 he won the Darebin Talent Search in the adult vocal section, made it to the top six in the 2008 NAB song writing contest, and gave up the day job in 2002 for two and a half years to live off his craft.

He recorded a solo nine song CD live "Greg Walsh Live Recording" of eight covers and one original, all with the flavour from his unique warm voice and bluesy piano playing.

Influences include so many musicians: Debussy, Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Jan Hammer, Kraftwork and Vince Jones to name a few. More recently influences have come from the New Orleans blues school, especially of the great piano players such as Dr. John and Professor Longhair.

Quotes from those who have heard him perform include: "great voice", "not often taken away like that", "nice touch", "unique voice", "smooth voice", "sexy voice", "sexy voice Oops! You know what I mean".

Comparisons include: "sounds like Ali Campbell" (lead singer of UB40), "sounds like Vince Jones", "The White Ray Charles".

He has just completed the recording of a 12 track all original music album "A Busy Street". Some of the songs have now been arranged to include other instruments, while others remain more sparse. On the album Walsh plays piano, electric piano, lead and backing vocals, hammond organ and synths. Other musicians include drummer David Kleynjans, Bonnie Smart - cello, Winnie Huang - viola, Aaron Barnden - violin, Corinna Jane - backing vocals, and some guitar and bass guitar. The album was recorded at Tone Collective in Melbourne, Australia.

Goals for the future include building up even more original material, more blues songs, continuing to perform at more original music orientated venues, and spreading the word about of the album being launched in October 2008.
