MARE DAYCO also known in Hollywood as the “Filipina Spitfire”

Singer/Songwriter/Actress

Mare Dayco is known in the Hollywood industry as the Filipina Spitfire singer with an indie acoustic/pop rock sound that rocked the stages of UCLA where she gained huge followers during her college days. Her music career started at an early age despite the fact that she is suffering from a traumatic skin disorder called Psoriasis, which almost cost her life on many occasions.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Mare frequented the Hollywood red carpets promoting her first album "On The Flipside." Her face has landed in several major magazines and has been interviewed in several major Hollywood broadcast and print media. She made her name headlining and packing the Troubador, The Mint, Genghis Cohen, and other top music venues in the L.A. Club scenes.

Mare is one of the endorsers and spokespersons of the National Psoriasis Foundation and has toured and performed concerts for their National Psoriasis Walk for Awareness Campaign in cities such as San Diego, San Francisco, Miami, Washington D.C., L.A., etc.

Mare is currently finishing her new hip/hop rock album with Dr. Dre’s apprentice, Tootie, who produced triple platinum record for Ice Cube called "Wicked." Mare recently recorded a track for Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and RBX for their new album called “The Concrete Criminals.” Among Mare’s favorite tracks, DMC (from the famous rap band Run DMC) and Da Brat are lending their talents and support for Mare to bring back the old school sound of hip hop, prompting Big Boi from Power 106 to ask her to have a debut release album at his daily radio show. Her first music video, “Dignity” which can be found on https://www.tradebit.com, landed her a coveted spot on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS FM 102.7 Website, which is LA’s Number 1 Radio Staion. She made it on their Top 25 Video Playlist. KIIS FM has recently hailed Mare as “the Philippine’s Hottest Singer.”

She was hired as a choreographer for the hit dance show in Disney''s California Adventure "High School Musical Pep Rally" and also choreographed the half-time show for the LA Avengers at the Staple Center in April 2008 with hip-hop dancers from an After-School Woodcraft Rangers program at Huntington Park High School. She also recently co-directed the Easter Children''s Choir of Bel Air Presbyterian at the Hollywood Bowl 2007.

Mare will soon finish her first children’s book “Mare’s Gift” to encourage those with disabilities to believe in their dreams. The book is being co-written with Greg Perkins, a veteran author of children’s books, with illustrations by Disney’s John Pomeroy and Mare’s sister, Cat Guerra. She has also written television sitcom pilots that will be pitched to television and movie studios in Hollywood. It is based on her life story as a Filipina-American singer in Hollywood.

As a child stricken with a disease that could have cost her life, her strong faith in God taught her to believe that she can overcome any fears in life. She started writing songs and poems based on her experiences, at the same time honing her craft with different instruments. Soon she was seen performing in churches, weddings, shelters, camps, funerals, and in every possible venue she could perform. One of her demo tapes landed in the hands of Wayne Kirkpatrick, producer to queen of Christian music, Amy Grant. Kirkpatrick encouraged Mare to start a band. And for the next three years, Mare toured with her 5-piece outfit band, Twenty-Four-Seven.

After the band broke up, Mare went solo while studying at the UCLA. For two years, she was seen playing at Kerkchoff Coffee house every Thursday for "Eclectic Nights." She won a showcase with Bad Boy Entertainment but by the advice from friend Randy Jackson (American Idol), Mare decided to fly solo.

Mare also decided to pursue her passion of acting, and garnered 8 years combined of theatre credits at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA. as well as at UCLA. A talent scout from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival offered Mare a place in the cast as a professional actress, but Mare chose to move to Nashville, Tenn. to record an album.

In her final semester at UCLA, Mare studied Shakespeare abroad in London, England as well as Stratford, England (the place of Shakespeare’s birth). Mare also graduated at UCLA with a bachelor''s degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing.

Mare Dayco''s infectious positive outlook in life and inspiring music sends good spirits to everyone she encounters.
