Details:
Marian Bradfield,
She''s often referred to as "one of Ireland''s hidden treasures," and it is easy to understand why after listening to any of Marian Bradfield''s CDs. Based in Donegal, Ireland, Bradfield brings with her an impressive catalogue of songs written based on her own life experiences.

Marian has appeared on several "Celtic Women "and "Celtic Tales" compilation CDs alongside artists such as Loreena McKennitt, Marie Brennan (Clannad), Hazel O''Connor, Francis Black, Rita Connolly, Mairead Ni Dhomhnaill, Dolores Keane, and Katy Moffatt.

Along the way Bradfield has attracted numerous rave reviews for her work and has been voted by readers of Hot Press as one of Ireland''s top ten female singers. She was also voted one of Ireland''s best solo performers by a panel of renowned Irish music critics.

Marian''s first solo CD, "Marian," received immediate critical praise from the media including Pat Kenny of the RTE. Jackie Hayden of Hot Press was quick to note, "She pours her heart and rich palette of emotions over a debut album of thirteen self-penned tracks--the quality of which most major artists would sacrifice their lawyers for."

Next up for Marian was her CD, "Tonight is Just for Us." This Bradfield offering was nominated for one of Ireland''s prestigious I.R.M. awards

Chance friendships formed while on tour and during concert performances saw the likes of Finbar Furey, Martin O''Connor and Jimmy Faulkner offering to perform on Marian''s next CD release, "The Emperor''s Fields." It too, played to rave reviews.

With her ever-growing popularity in Europe it was decided to record and release an in-concert live CD captured during one of her tours of Holland. Entitled "Marian Bradfield Live," the CD had one radio DJ exclaiming, "An album that draws you into the very powerful intimate world of her live performance and leaves you breathless!"

Marian''s current CD "Secret Life of a Woman" has become a music critics favorite. Once again, attracting new followers to her music.

Marian''s list of media appearances reads like a Who''s Who of the Irish radio and TV scene. She has shared stages at home and abroad with the likes of Altan, Maire Brennan (Clannad). The Fureys, Liam O''Flynn, Mary Black, Kieran Goss, Aslan, Donal Lunny, Paddy Glacken, Andy Irvine, Jimmy McCarthy and the Chieftains.

Recently, Marian did a mini-tour through Chicago (USA) receiving standing ovations at each stop. She also performed live on Chicago''s powerhouse radio station WGN. Host Dean Richards (Tribune Company entertainment critic) put it simply....."She''s terrific!"

While in Chicago, Marian also stopped by Public Radio''s "Folk Festival" show where again she performed live and spent the better part of an hour chatting with show host George Brown. According to George, "Marian is one of the best Ireland has to offer. It was an honor to have her on my show."

What''s up next for Marian Bradfield?......... Shows at home and abroad, more recording (word has it some sides were recorded during her last stop in Chicago with some of her favorite American musicians on board for the sessions) and most importantly, writing those wonderful songs as only Marian can.

Quotes:

Jackie Hayden--Hot Press, Ireland
"Marian Bradfield has an unerrring lyrical eys for the details of life and the ear to find the right melodies to marry them. She has a voice too that reaches the secret parts of momen''s (and men''s) lives that most female songwriters can''t or won''t. ''Secret Life of a Woman'' is a very worth addition to the impressive Bradfield catalogue."

Keith Johnson --IMRO Ireland
This is a beautiful album with some "really beautiful" pictures painted in prose

Sarah McQuaid--Evening Herald Ireland

"Listening to her new album "Secret Life of a Woman" on the care stereo, this writer was forced to pull over to the hard shoulder when Bradfield''s song "Momma''s Kisses" set her blubbering uncontrollably. Most of the self penned tracks are unashamedly autobiographical, but touch on universal themes. This woman''s big, deep, troathy voice brings Nina Simone to mind and the tasteful production by Martin McAllister keeps the foucus where it belongs on Bradfield''s honest plain-spoken lyrics."

Munster Express Newspapaer---Waterford Ireland

"Marian Bradfield''s new CD "Secret Life of a Woman" is quite simply a stunning piece of work!"

Mick O''Brien---Dublin City Anna Livia FM Radio Ireland
" I have for years loved the way this woamn approaches the song structure. Her songs are "important songs."

Stevie Bolger---Dublin''s Country Ireland

"This is a stunning album with some wonderful songs and arrangements!"

Ralph Murphy--ASCAP Nashville, TN USA

" I get a lot of material sent to me from Ireland and when I got your album it just stood out from all the rest. I just had to call and tell you how "awesome" it is--the songs, your voice, the lyrics, the productions, arrangements---everything...is just awesome"

Bill Margeson--Irish American News- Chicago, IL USA,-- "Blarney on the Air" Host Public Radio Chicago, IL USA,-- Irish Music Magazine-Ireland

"Marian Bradfield has a beautiful voice. Lots of talented women have lovely voices. What seperates Marian from the field is the depth of her understanding of the music and an unerring ability to get to the heart of a song. She is among the very best. Wonderful!"
