Details:
Canadian born Linda Grenier is an accomplished folk''n country/blues singer/songwriter, contemplating life in Lanark County with her partner, and their two dogs.
At age seven, the Neil Young song "Heart of Gold" sparked Linda''s passion for music. By age 10, she had taught herself to play guitar, and at 12, Linda was performing at school events.
Linda''s childhood consisted of constant change. Her family moved from place to place, wherever her father was posted. Music became a way of expressing her thoughts and feelings through the many stages of her life. As she became an adult, the music naturally grew as well.
Linda spends many hours traveling back and forth from county to city. Her music is often influenced by the hustle and bustle of everyday life as she reflects on it behind the wheel of her car. It''s these everyday inspirations that lead to her first CD release, "GO''IN PICK''IN" in November 2000. Linda''s 2nd CD, appropriately entitled, "ASPHALT RAMBLINGS", was released on August 28th, 2003.
"My music is "county" music-not country, and not folk. It''s a little bit bluegrass and everything else ''cause of where I live. After all, Lanark County is home to some of Canada''s finest bluegrass fiddlers, pickers and step dancers. It is my hope that anyone listening will connect with the words and the music and feel understood and ready to face another day in this crazy fast paced world."
Linda''s simple, yet unique, musical lyrics are said to find you chuckling and contemplating county life.
