Details:
One with the Water is an anthology that spans over 20 years of songwriting by Dan Berggren. In the liner notes he writes: "Our planet is mostly water - and so are we. It''s easy being one with the water. When we recognize our connections, whether human or environmental, we want those moments to last. That''s why we write, photograph, record and remember." The 2002 album contains 23 tracks of poems and songs, many of which are previously unreleased recordings from the archives of Sleeping Giant Records and Northern Roads.

Dan Berggren’s roots are firmly in the Adirondacks where he was raised but his music has branched out across many borders. The award-winning musician and educator has entertained audiences at festivals, coffeehouses, concert halls, museums, schools and libraries throughout New York State, from Kentucky to Texas, Vermont to Michigan, and overseas in Belgium, Bulgaria, Transylvania and Central Africa.

A tradition-based songsmith, Dan writes with honesty, humor and a strong sense of place. His songs explore the many dimensions of home, hard-working folks, as well as taking care of our planet and each other.

The 30-year folk veteran held various jobs before devoting his life to music full-time:  working in the Adirondack woods with a forest ranger and surveyor; radio producer in Europe; professor of audio and radio studies for the State University of New York; and owner of Sleeping Giant Records which has produced thirteen albums.
