"Poetry ''n Melody" is the result of several years of collaborating between Barbara Baker and Mark Transki of Belmont and Wellsville, NY. Although they havn''t performed recently, both have been members of groups that have played previously in the Western New York area. In the adult contemporary/pop category, the collection has a mixture of styles that range from Fleetwood Mac and Santanna, to James Taylor and Anne Murray.
Some of the guitar work and background vocals are Mark''s. All female lead vocals and harmonies are done by Barb. John Akers of Rochester is singing the lead and haromnies on "Step Away", "Just Another Lie" and "Without You". There are six other musicians from the Rochester area who helped with the recording of this project. They are: Todd East, Andy Calabrese, Marvin Parker, Robert Pickert and Danny Lomenzo, all of whom either perform and/or have a studio of their own or do sessions for hire. We believe this is a diverse collection of songs that will appeal to a broad audience.
