Details:
An accomplished vocalist, musician, songwriter, arranger and producer, Liz Larin has gained international acclaim for her talent and artistic abilities. Her latest release, The Story of O-Miz, the follow up to her critically acclaimed independent release Merry Wicked (2002), has garnered tremendous public response. The Story of O-Miz, achieved a
virtual sweep of the 2003 and 2004 Detroit Music Awards, including
Outstanding Rock/Pop Recording of the Year. The Story of OMiz, has captivated a dedicated following in the United States and abroad.

The Story of O-Miz reflects the intensity and urgency of the Detroit
music scene - home to this native Detroiter. Larin returned home to Detroit from Los Angeles with the release of Merry Wicked, produced with Scott Spock (Avril Lavigne, Liz Phair). "I''ve been soaking up the energy, performing with really great musicians and enjoying the audiences
here," says Larin.

In addition to writing and arranging all of the songs on The Story of O-Miz, Larin plays guitar and keyboards and shares production credits with recording engineer and studio owner Roscoe (Sponge, Patty Smith. The Brothers Groove). A number of Detroit''s best musicians contributed to the CD: guitarist Robert Tye, James Simonson and Chuck Bartels on bass, Todd Glass and David Taylor on drums. Vinnie Dombroski (Sponge) lends drums and vocals to "Pretty Is." "There are some termendously
accomplished musicians on this CD, guys who can really play," Larin said. "I love working with guys this good. It was a team effort both musically and emotionally," said Larin.

Larin started writing songs at the age of 10, teaching herself how to
play guitar. She started performing in church and soon discovered
another outlet -the local music store, where she played in small jam
sessions. It was there she was exposed to different musicians and
musical styles. Larin joined her first rock band in high school, and
remembered it as a scary but exciting time. "My parents, of course,
were concerned for me. I knew I had to strike out on my own, so I
left home when I was 16. I kept the bills paid by I teaching guitar
after school and playing gigs."

Larin continued to hone her craft and received local acclaim as a
member of the duo Press, partnering with guitarist and songwriter
Michael Kin. The duo later adding Danny Cox as a drummer and
percussionist, and with Larin playing bass, Tthe band landed a deal
with Atlantic Records, signed by Jason Flom and Doug Morris. The
band recorded the critically acclaimed One By One By One in
England with producer Rupert Hine (The Fixx, Tina Turner, Howard
Jones, Stevie Nicks). Criss -crossing the country to promote the CD,
the band opened for many international acts including Cheap Trick,
Robert Palmer, Gregg Allman and REO Speedwagon.

After the band split up, Larin moved to Santa Barbara, California
and recorded a second album for Atlantic, this time as a solo artist.
On Test Your Faith, Larin worked with producer Ben Grosse
(Filter, Ben Folds Five, Vertical Horizon) and invited a host of friends
to join her, including guitarist Randy Jacobs (Seal, Tears For Fears,
Was Not Was), and drummer Tony Thompson (Chic, Bowie).
After a few years as part of the Los Angeles music scene, Larin knew
she was missing Detroit''s energy. "I missed my friends and family
and wanted a "life" -- to have something to write about." Larin explains.. "My L.A. life had become surreal, entrenched in the "business" and I wanted to return to playing music. Detroit is a real music town and has a reputation for great musicianship. When I got home I got back to why I started playing music in the first place."

Salvation, surrender and love are just some of the themes that run
through Larin''s emotional and powerful music. Larin admits to enjoying some of the mystery surrounding her music, "I''m just having a mad love affair with music."

Liz Larin''s highly anticipated follow-up
release is slated for fall of 2004.
