Details:
Lydia Warren has been receiving critical acclaim and love from fans since her high school days. This 21 year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist has fronted her R&B-meets-rock trio since 2000, and has been compared to everyone from B.B. King to Janis Joplin. Backed by longtime bandmates Warren Grant (drums) and Matt Malikowski (bass), Lydia has just released her third CD, which is an exciting collection of old school R&B and contemporary pop and rock.

"BB Queen"
-Boston Magazine

In 2001, while Lydia was a senior at Franklin High School, the Lydia Warren Band released their debut, self-titled CD. The band attracted national attention when NBC''s Today Show ran a feature story on them. WHDH Channel 7, Worcester Channel 3 and ATT Broadband Channel 3 quickly followed suit. The band quickly gained respect and many new fans by sharing the stage with legendary performers The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Johnny Winter, Rick Derringer, Buckwheat Zydeco, and Hubert Sumlin.

"Versatile guitar work and a voice that can both simmer and sear"
-Boston Herald

After a 2002 Boston Music Award nomination for "Best New Blues Act" and a performance at the prestigious NEMO music conference, Lydia was invited to lecture at Berklee School of Music about the life of a recording and touring musician. That summer Lydia and bandmates Matt and Warren played Festiblues in Montreal, Canada, attended by 60,000 people annually. In late 2002 Lydia traveled to the Middle Eastern country Lebanon where she played clubs, universities, and the American Embassy.

"Lydia is changing the face of the blues with her music"
-NBC''s Today Show

In 2003 the band released "Pass My Way," an eclectic mix of vintage soul and modern pop. The CD was recorded in a Cape Cod cottage which the band turned into a studio. While promoting their second CD the band was invited to open for B.B. King, headline the Hampton Beach Seafood Festival (annually attended by 200,000 people), and play countless venues throughout the Northeast. The band partnered with Newbury Comics for regional distribution and gained recognition through rave reviews and flattering articles in the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Cape Cod Magazine, Portsmouth Herald, and more. WZLX, Pixy 103, WBHG, WHEB, WBOS and numerous other radio stations put songs like "Don''t Need No" and "Respect Me Baby" in regular rotation.

"Chaud, Chaud, Chaud!" (Hot, Hot, Hot!)
-Courier Ahuntsic, Montreal

In December 2004 the band released its most anticipated CD! Recorded over a two month period in late 2004, the Boston-based trio shines while mixing classic rhythm and blues with contemporary rock and pop for a unique and catchy new sound. Lydia penned 9 of the 10 songs on this new disc. The music runs the gamut from the Otis Redding-style ballad "Valentine", straight up blues tune "Back To Me", and rocker "Any Different". On the tenth track the band breathed new life into an obscure J.B. Lenoir song titled "The Whale Has Swallowed Me". If 2005 proves to be anything like the past few years, the Lydia Warren Band is certainly on the fast track towards stardom.
