Details:
"Hide & Seek," Lisa Mandelstein''s debut CD, is a moody, ethereal, hopeful, sweet/spicy mix of songs. Lisa collaborated with two creative co-producers - Tom Meshishnek & Christopher Krotky (Atomic Tangerine Productions)- whose arrangements/musicianship made each song shine.
Christopher K''s strong percussion background and unique bass tracks laid the foundation for dynamic yet intimate settings on the six songs recorded at his studio. His arrangements of "Post-mortem" and "Hide and Seek" will knock you out (as well as "Someone''s Else''s Crime" and everything he did)!
Tom Meshishnek has recorded many San Francisco artists and for years ran the standing-room-only underground music series, Mo''s Melody Mansion. In addition to his recording talents, he always came up with the right sound at the right time (banjos & balalaikas & washboards, oh my).
Jeri Jones of Blame Sally fame (https://www.tradebit.com), laid down languid moody guitar solos and some tasty slide work, getting things simmering. Pam Delgado, another Blame Sally gal, added her percussion grooves for "Tip Jar" and "Spirograph." Check their website for info on Blame Sally''s amazing new studio album!
Kelly Takunda Orphan sang backup vocals on two of the songs, including a smoking vocal solo to end "Someone Else''s Crime." Check out her amazing new CD "Give It to the People!" right here at https://www.tradebit.com!
Daniel Fabricant added his jazz-tinged upright bass sound to "Grandma''s Piano" and "Mariette." You can catch Daniel with The Spencer Day Band and Mas Que Nada in San Francisco.
Alan Lin (Noe Venable Trio; Vienna Teng) laid down violin tracks for the title song "Hide and Seek," from which Chris K created stunning interwoven parts. Julie Smolin, another amazing bay area musician, crafted the elegant violin parts on "Grandma''s Piano" and "Spirograph."
The CD comes with a beautiful booklet: 10 pages with lyrics and original artwork by Steve Lomprey will add to the listening pleasure. Kick back and enjoy. Works well for parties. Lisa says "Thanks for listening!"
