Details:
"Being a ''recording artist'' is a weird thing. Internally, there is this deeply felt need to express one''s self through the art form of recording. Externally, there is this somewhat brazen and self-centered assumption that others would actually want to hear what one composes." So muses Manuel Luz, pianist and songwriter, on his latest album entitled, "If Life Were A Book."

In a very real way, this project is a continuation of some of the thoughts and prayers expressed in Manuel''s previous project, A Bridge Called Surrender, which was released late in 2001. "In the three years between projects, God has brought my family and me on quite a journey- physically, emotionally, and most of all, spiritually," continues Manuel. "There have been trials and turmoil, successes and stirrings, wonderings and wanderings-but through it all, the Hand of God has never left us, gently protecting, cradling, and often nudging us into His will."

Musically, the album is both simple and complex, with evocative melodies and thoughtful chord changes and arrangements. True to his craft, it is piano-driven and heart-felt. Lyrically, the album has both depth and insight, as it chronicles some of these "stirrings" through an interesting chapter in his life--ministering in Vancouver, Canada. And so he likens his life to a book, whose chapters are being written day by day.

Manuel summarizes, "They say that every person has a story. I believe every person is a story. And in these last few years, I have become more aware of the Writer of my story, the Author of Days."

Manuel is a first-class musician with nearly 50 album credits in the independent Christian music scene in northern California. Manuel is currently the creative arts pastor for a church in Folsom, California.
