Steve McLalan''s unique new disc, "The Mustard Suites", is a collection of his most recent instrumental, acoustic guitar compositions. It is the latest new sound to come from this talented, LA based composer/musician, whose career, to date, has run the musical gamut:
from classical to country, with a touch of jazz and folk, in between.
Steve has appeared as an opening act for Tom Petty, Boz Skaggs, The Sundays, Richie Havens and the late John Lee Hooker, to name but a few. He has performed up and down the west coast and in the Rocky Mountain States, in clubs and colleges, as well as at weddings and other celebratory events along the way.
Steve has been seen and heard playing on national television in ABC''s "The Home Show". He wrote a song, which was aired on the "Dr. Demento Show" for national radio, and performed on various local radio stations, such as KPFK and KFJC.
For a time he toured with a variety of bands, until he formed his own Los Angeles group, "Ruined Choir", an acoustic electric trio, also playing clubs and colleges, while he completed work on the eighteen songs which became the group''s album, "Aggregate".
"Ruined Choir" was disbanded by Steve in order to pursue his solo career, which has now resulted in, "The Mustard Suites". It is a collection of acoustic guitar compositions, demonstrating his deep understanding of the nuances of the genre and offers either pure listening pleasure or relaxing background music, which is refreshingly original.
Enjoy!
