Jennifer McNutt was born in a small suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio and has been writing lyrics and melodies since she was a child. Jennifer doesn''t have an obvious place to trace from where or whom she got her talent, but it does seem inherent. Some believe the loss of her mother at the age of three, launched Jennifer into an introspective world where often times she isolated herself and found music, stories.
Jennifer a member of Ascap, studied Music History under Dr. Kirkendall in Cincinnati, OH. She was also instructed by one of Cincinnati''s premiere guitarists, Brian Coleman, a graduate of The Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. She continues to study with others and teaches herself voice, piano, guitar, and music as a whole to facilitate writing.
Her newest CD "The Other Side of Me" is a collection of original songs, capturing Jennifer''s wide range of vocal and Pop/Rock instrumental stylings, and charts the development of her very personal and powerful songwriting. The single "After Everyone" is now featured as the demo song on new Living Audio recording software developed by Contemporary Entertainment, Inc. , and is being marketed to major artists and record companies across the globe. Based in Los Angeles, Jennifer continues to develop her songwriting technique with new material she writes on demand. One of her goals is to write music for television and cinema. In 2002, Jennifer wrote an original theme song for a live comedy play premiering in Hollywood that is now in development as an independent feature film. The single, "Nowhere To Run Honey" is a whimsical and catchy melody that set the tone for the production. Jennifer has also licensed the use of her song "Leave This Place" for an indie film entitled "Peace" set to be released in June of 2005.
Jennifer''s confident styling and resonance is uniquely her own. It is rare to come across a songwriter who so successfully combines the original with the familiar. Her talents catapult her past being just another folk acoustic diva. Jennifer has a strong, self-assured, distinct, feminine, vocal style with a hopeful, edgy, progressive, rock sound. Jennifer, is currently working on a new CD with an acoustic, intense, intimate, focus. KGFN in San Diego and NTG radio are two stations that recently added "The Other Side Of Me." Jennifer McNutt wants to do it all -- everyone who has ever met Jennifer, heard her music, or seen her perform live believes she will deliver.
