Details:
On this double-album Leoni Jansen sings well known folk-hits from her youth ("Old Friends") ,as well as new and relatively unknown repertoire ("New Friends"). She even wrote two songs herself! Tracks include two duets: "Angel from Montgomery" with Dutch popstar Janne Schra, and "Ja Gese" with South African multi-talented singer Chris Chameleon. As always everything flawlessly produced and arranged by Dutch top-producer Onno Krijn.

Leoni sounds better than ever, and still means every word of all of the 21 songs on the album..

From the liner notes: "I once read that the greatest influence on your musical taste is the music you listen to between the age of 14 and 21. For me this is certainly true. We listened to Mitchell, Cohen, and Dylan, and would play their songs in the canteen of our school almost every day (in those days everybody seemed to play the guitar and sing). These songs have stayed with me for all those years, like old friends. And like old friends they are still so true in many ways. I never dared sing them ever since, but finally I feel old and wise enough to do so.

At the same time, beautiful songs I never heard before keep flying into my ears. They have become my new friends. Amongst then songs by my favourite Scottish songwriters: Karine Polwart and Dougie McClean; two beautiful traditionals-one by Robert Burns, and a Senegalese song (the language is Wolof); two South African songs (including a duet with the lovely Chris Chameleon), and finally some brand new stuff written with Jeroen Kramer.

Talking about friends: my travels through Africa and the musical friends I met there have also become an inextricable part of me and thus made their mark on some of the folksongs on this album."
