Mindwalk is a "world class" contemporary music ensemble. This five piece group represents a "talent pool of diversity" rarely seen in the industry. Mindwalk''s original music is artfully sprinkled with Funk, Rock, Hip-Hop, Latin, Smooth Jazz, and Bebop.

Mindwalk''s live performances are visually captive and musically reflect the experience of opening concerts for such prominent Artists as Spyro Gyra, The Yellowjackets, Herbie Hancock & the Headhunters, Jon Secada, Acoustic Alchemy, The Rippingtons, Richard Elliott, Joan Osbourne, BB King, Steve Morse Band, Less Than Jake, Maceo Parker, Steve Reid & Bamboo Forest, House of Dreams, Steel Pulse, Widespread Panic, Col. Bruce Hampton, Kenny Wayne Shepard, The Roots, Sister Hazel, Greg Karukas, Daryle Singeltary, Les Dudek, Pat Travers, Aquarium Rescue Unit, and Bela Fleck & the Flecktones.

THE BAND

RICHY STANO - Guitarist/Composer

Richy Stano grew up in a musical family. He jokes that his father was a professional piano player who got sidetracked in a career of nuclear engineering. "He would come home every day from work and play the piano for a couple of hours," says Stano. "When I was little I just thought everybody''s dad did that."

When Stano was four years old, he saw the Beatles on television and that set the hook. The music had a sound and the Beatles had an energy that drew him in. His parents made him do time on the piano to prove that his interest in music was more than a childish whim; he thinks of it as his penance. At six, Stano got his wish, a guitar for Christmas.

Everyone in his family played an instrument, but it was two older cousins that mentored him professionally. "I knew they wouldn''t want me around if I didn''t know what I was doing. So I practiced to keep up with them, and by the time I was 11 they let me play professional gigs with them," Stano says. Over the next few years, Stano took turns leading his own band, playing the Jersey Shore circuit, and playing with his cousins opening for groups like KISS and Tony Orlando and Dawn.

Stano attended and graduated from Ithaca College in New York while he continued to play regional venues opening for Pure Prairie League back in the day when Vince Gill was a member. After marrying he moved to Tucson and did brief stints at both IBM and First Interstate Bank. It was then he realized corporate life just wasn''t his deal. He came up with a 5-year plan that started with a move to California.

Richy Stano worked in Los Angeles for 11 years as an active session musician and served as Staff Instructor at Hollywood''s Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) and the Curriculum Coordinator for the Musicians Institute (MI). Wanting to make the most of his time in LA, Stano worked with Special EFX, Boney James, Michael Lington, Mike Campbell & Benmont Tench of Tom Petty''s Heartbreakers, Rick Dees'' Rockin'' New Years Eve, and the pit band for The Groundlings Improv Comedy Troupe, known for launching names likeWill Ferrell, Lisa Kudrow, Jon Lovitz, and Kathy Griffin, and as a session player which secured him numerous commercial jingles and movie soundtracks.

Stano had laid the groundwork that got him in with Curb Recording Artist Amy Dalley who''s released three music videos, five singles and is on the verge of releasing her first CD this September. In the three years he''s worked with Dalley they''ve roved the country opening for Toby Keith on his "Unleashed" tour with Rascal Flatts, and played venues ranging from the Grand Ole Opry to Dollywood to Las Vegas. They have also played in festivals all over the country opening for: Clint Black, Lonestar, Jo Dee Messina, Gary Allan, Darryl Worley, Chris Cagle, Dierks Bentley, Clay Walker, Aaron Tippin, Sawyer Brown, Blake Shelton, Randy Travis, Buddy Jewel, Sara Evans, Jimmy Wayne, Billy Currington, Jeff Bates and Diamond Rio just to name a few.

When he''s not playing with Amy Dalley, Stano keeps a full schedule. He''s an original member of Mindwalk, a contemporary jazz group that''s released two CDs and opens for groups like Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Herbie Hancock & The Headhunters, Acoustic Alchemy, The Yellowjackets, The Rippingtons, Jon Secada, BB King, Less Than Jake, Steve Morse Band, Steel Pulse, Joan Osbourne, Maceo Parker, Richard Elliott, Steve Reid & Bamboo Forest, Widespread Panic, Col. Bruce Hampton, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, The Roots, Sister Hazel, Greg Karukas, Daryle Singeltary, Les Dudek, Pat Travers, Aquarium Rescue Unit and Spyro Gyra. He also teaches guitar clinics with National Guitar Workshop and Gretsch Guitars. But music isn''t everything. Stano savors time spent with his three kids: his son Kalin, oldest daughter Carly and his youngest daughter Alex. He''s written music for all of his kids, but it was his song "Kings for Carly" that was selected by Jazziz Magazine for a compilation CD.

In his career Stano has performed with Bo Diddley, Jimi Tunnel, Dan Toler, Producer/Songwriter Stan Lynch, Chieli Minucci, Bob Welch, Andy Prieboy, All My Children''s Alan Dysert, Sister Hazel''s Andrew Copeland, Joe Porcaro, and Steve Bailey. As a composer, Stano''s film & TV soundtrack credits and commercial jingle credits include: "Problem Child II," "Lobster Man from Mars," "Mr. Belvedere," "On the Television," AT&T, Budweiser, ESPN, CNN, https://www.tradebit.com, Nickelodeon, Special Olympics, FOX-TV, ABC-TV, CBS-Sports, Pep Boys, Nintendo, Coors Light, USA Today, Cherry Coke, Nissan Trucks, Cox Media, Superior Beer, 3M, Lifetime network, and Ernst & Young. Stano endorses Steve Klein Custom Electric Guitars, Blankenship Amplification and Sabine electronic tuners and EFX.

Whether it''s touring with Amy Dalley, playing with Mindwalk, teaching clinics or private lessons, or any of the other music gigs he''s got his fingers into, Stano is happy. "I feel really lucky to be able to make a living at something I love," says Stano.
