Lori was introduced to music by her father, Bill Rippe at 3 years old. She learned to play guitar and sing harmony with him as he played to his favorite songs that were mostly country, western, and folk style. Since the age of 7, Lori recieved extensive public and private vocal and piano instructions from various teachers. She has also taken college vocal courses and received an associates degree in recording arts. Perhaps most facinating about Lori Rippe-Maxwell is the way she pours her emotions into her lyrics and vocal style, so much so that the sound of her music results in a sort of reincarnation of Karen Carpenter.
