Fionnbharre grew up in a small isolated town in the Angeles National Forest in Southern California called Wrightwood. His childhood had a profound and deep effect on his life. He spent most of his time surrounded by nature, exploring the forest. In his music you will find a sweet and innocent nature that we all remember as children. It takes us back to that safe place where we can relax, let go and be as little children again and find ourselves. One of his fondest memories and a vision he often goes to when he plays is a time when he would sit beneath a very large pine tree in the warm summer sun, listen to the sounds of the Lark and Robin sing along with the owls and watch the animated Grey Squirrels chase each other up and down the trees.
Fionnbharre began to play music when he was a child. His first instrument was a small bamboo whistle. He remembers being very fond if it and played it with his heart and soul. He would often go to this special place where there was a small stream and sit beside it and play. The sound of water be it a stream or the ocean is one of his favorites and you will often hear it in his music in the background. Later he experimented with a mouth organ and recorder. While in his teenage years he played electric guitar. Looking back he feels that all his life he was drawn to playing music and studying sound. When Fionnbharre was in his 20''s he began to play the Bansuri. He says this is his favorite instrument of all to play. His source of study has been a two fold method of listing to the great flute Masters such as G.S. Sachdev, R. Carlos Nakai, Nawang Kechog, and also by going inwardly and hearing the Inner Sound which is the source of all knowledge and music. Later on Fionnbharre learned to play the Native American flute. He says that when he picks up the flute, he feels the voices of his Cherokee ancestors speaking to him and landscapes of visual and sonographic imagery unfold in front of him. He also has a deep love of a very special instrument called a Tanpura from India. The name "Tanpura according to Wikipedia is derived from tana referring to a musical phrase and pura which means full or complete. There is also some mystical references to the Tanpura as being made as a copy of the Sound Current or Inner Sound referred to in so many of the Eastern philosophies. This instrument is used widely in classical indian music and is now being heard more and more in ambient and new age music. Fionnbharre also has learned to sing in the style of Tibetan Throat singers. Fionnhbarre has a passion for Sound and all that it encompasses. He has studied many works of pioneering sound healers such as Jonathan Goldman and others. Fionnbharre served in the US Navy as a Sonar Operator onboard a Nuclear Submarine. It was during this time he learned about the many wonderful and scientific properties of sound and how it affects a body of water. It is interesting to note that our bodies are composed of mostly water and how sound affects it is much the same as the ocean. Recently when he was gifted the vision to create several valuable new inventions that are still in the creation stage. These inventions which use knowledge he gained through his life experience and from his inner journeys will likely become powerful healing tools of the future. It is was said by famous Psychic Edgar Cayce that Sound would eventually be the healing modality of the future. It is Fionnbharre''s passion and love to help to bring about this change of the use of Sound to heal all things. If we look everywhere in our daily lives there is no place that is not touched by sound of some kind. Fionnharre is developing a new method of helping people access their higher awareness through something called a Sound Journey. It is about laying out an imagery of both music and visual awareness to work with people on an individual level to assist them in releasing stress and held emotions that are blocking them from being their true authentic beings. He says that the sound alone has the power to release us from everything that we are holding onto. One can easily witness this how different sounds move us to dance, sing with joy and cry. He also is working with another pioneer in the field of Sound Healing Daniel Kunkle of BioWaves in Olympia Wa. with a innovative program that analyzes a clients voice and maps out the frequencies to determine deficiencies which correlate to all different parts of the body. This is a new and innovative technology which still in its infancy. Fionnbharre is also pioneering a new form of Light Therapy which will also change the way we use light as a healing tool and understand its healing characteristics. Fionnbharre is truly a Renaissance man of our times. His favorite person in history is Leonardo Da Vinci whom he regards as being his quasi teacher and mentor from a distant time.
On a more personal note when Fionnbharre is not playing or recording music he enjoys participating in a dance at the Studio Maui and Sweat Your Prayers also known as The Five Rhythms which was developed by Gabriel Roth. He also spends a great deal of time in nature. Living in the tropical paradise of Maui he has experienced incredible healing and uplifting experiences. His favorite place is the Iao valley known for its healing waters. Another of his passions is to write ecstatic poetry inspired by his love of Life, his spiritual teacher and his love of everyone and everything around him. Anyone who has ever spent time with him has felt his devoted heart and Love. He also loves to play and record with other musicians, and is currently working on several new projects. The album Eastern Light Western Wind was inspired by his love of the teachings and music of the East, his Native American ancestry and his passion for the sounds of nature. He devoted many years of practice of playing the flute and meditation before he felt it was time to bring it out and record. It is his first recorded compilation. He hopes that everyone will enjoy the music and allow it to take them deeper into their own selves, bringing them closer to the essence of their Soul . Sound is everything he says...Everything is Sound.

I am interested in the mystery of Life and the depth of what it means to live ones passion and dream to the fullest. Using musical Instruments,Voice and Love to heal others hearts, minds, and bodies. Making the Soul to dance in Ecstasy of Loves voice in the melody of Music. I play music from my Heart and Soul to he Hearts and Souls of all who will listen. I play for Love and for the simple passion of creating something that will help to change the state of consciousness of the Human Race.
