Details:
Final Iteration is a Christian progressive-rock band that strives for variation in its sound. From the outset, the band made it clear that its goal was to have no two songs sounding alike. Just listen to "Asymptotic to Abscissa", the band''s debut release, and you will hear the variety of styles used. These styles of music include sounds ranging from dark and alternative, to happy and melodic / harmonic, to sarcastic punk rock, to twisted classical music.

Final Iteration''s landmark powerhouse version of "It is Well With My Soul" has already been a favorite among reviewers, and the sarcastic "Nutbags" has been the overwhelming favorite of the general public.

Here is the list of songs included on "Asymptotic to Abscissa":

1. "Fire Land" - an agonizing prayer for help from a man trapped in sin
2. "Nutbags" - a sarcastic look at modern civilized life
3. "Not Even One" - a brilliant adaptation of scriptures into an epic look at a world that rejected Christ
4. "Moonlight Sonata" - interesting and enjoyable blues-rock version of the classical piece
5. "Psalm 23" - acapella ensemble followed by a beat-driven melodic progression
6. "Burst Into Song" - Grungy alternative rocker, a toe-tapping, head-shaking praise song worthy of volume
7. "Drum Jam Intermission" - a short drum duet between Bart and Dave
8. "Decision to Make" - another epic rocker, with a soulful, southern feel, combined with ripping precision and intense sounds; comparable to Dream Theater in sound
9. "Double Bass Man" - an interesting 5/4 progression, with a humble prayer in the bridge
10. "It is Well With My Soul" - piano-driven rendition of the incredible touching hymn
11. "Waltz to the Judgment Throne" - a slamming, progressive metal, image-producing piece of mastery
12. "Love You Forever" - a ballad for God, followed by a triumphal dwelling upon sin''s defeat
13. "Hail, Hail" - honoring the King, praising his name, shuffle beat style (reminiscent of early Van Halen)

So, what does "Asymptotic to Abscissa" mean, anyway? An "asymptote" is a line that approaches a limit, getting closer and closer to it, but never reaching it. Think of fractions. You have 1/2, 1/3, 1/4,..., 1/10, 1/100, 1/1000, and so on, where the number gets closer and closer to zero, but never actually reaches zero. This is an asymptote. "Abscissa" is merely the mathematical word for the x-axis on a graph.
