About the CD:

Our salvation is assured by the grace of God through the sacrifice of Jesus who died once for all to pay the penalty for our sins. This CD entitled "Once For All" acknowledges that action and praises Jesus for what He has done for us. Colleen has captured the essence of His sacrifice and speaks to our hearts and our souls with an eclectic collection of moving and thought provoking songs, all focusing on God''s salvation. Experience for yourself the spiritual essence of this CD. You will not regret it.

Colleen opens the CD with a rocking number about repentance and conversion entitled "Foot of His Cross". She points to the foot of His cross as the place where this change takes place. This song of celebration is tempered by the realization that the price for this is "history''s greatest blood loss".

The second song entitled "His Bride" speaks of the immeasurable love Jesus has for each member of His Church, a love akin to that of a husband for his bride. We realize that no matter what we do, Jesus will never love us less. The final verse encapsulates the entire gospel message, proclaiming that this love is extended to all who will accept it.

Next, Colleen examines our spiritual battle with the enemy in the jazzy "Sin and Bones". We are warned of the danger if we separate from Jesus but assured of victory through God''s Word. The song combines a serious topic with a feel-good tempo and style that just makes us smile.

"Take This Ring" helps provide a complete portrait of God''s relationship with us and his involvement in every aspect of our lives. It is a wedding song Colleen wrote and sang for a couple of her friends on their wedding day. The strength of the song lies in the fact that in the expression of love, even at this special time, thoughts of God are first and foremost.

At the midpoint of the CD we get a light-hearted children''s song in which the beauty of God''s creation is recognized in the song "Thank You, God". What better way to say thanks to God than through the innocent voices of children evidenced in the latter part of the song as a children''s choir adds to the celebration of thanksgiving.

"The Reason Why" emphatically contrasts the horror and sorrow surrounding the sacrifice of Jesus with the triumphant joy accompanying His resurrection. Colleen forces us to see our role in the death of Jesus as she graphically describes His humiliation, torture, and crucifixion. Then, as we cringe from the reality of what He endured, she suddenly bridges the gap as she proclaims "Only He knew the glory that lay ahead"! The song reveals both our part and God''s part in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It leaves us both humbled and elated.

The next song entitled "Who Am I?" looks back on all that went before. In the wake of the magnificence of God and all His work, what He has given us and what He has done for us, we realize how totally insignificant we truly are. And yet God has done all this for us. We shake our heads in wonder and ask who am I? We see here the fullness of God''s grace.

In the next song entitled "Don''t Cry", Colleen examines our mortality in a hauntingly beautiful, moving and powerful way. Colleen wrote this song to provide a lasting message of hope and encouragement to her family during her battle with cancer. Speaking from the perspective of one who has just passed away to the loved ones left behind, it is a song both of great faith and comfort.

When it comes time to conclude a CD of worship and adoration such as this one, what better way than in prayer? And what prayer is more appropriate than "The Lord''s Prayer"? And it is only fitting that for a compilation of such originality Colleen should produce her own original melody for the prayer. This presentation successfully completes the CD leaving us in a state of reflection as we ponder the gift we have just enjoyed.

This is not a CD just to be listened to; it is to be ingested. You''ll laugh, cry, cheer, and sit silently in humility letting it take you into God''s presence. It will be an experience you''ll treasure for a long time to come.

The CD includes an insert containing the lyrics to all of the songs as well as information regarding the production, engineering, and musicians involved.

About the artist:

Colleen Leadbeater was born and raised in Sydney, Cape Breton, Canada, the fifth of seven children of Eddie and Theresa (MacNeil) Burke.

As is often the case in Cape Breton, the Burke children grew up surrounded by music, with kitchen parties and ceilidhs routinely taking place at the house. The rooms were filled with the sounds of the piano, fiddle, guitar, harmonica, and even the bagpipes.

In her early teens Colleen began writing poems and songs. A rather shy and sensitive person by nature, she felt more at ease expressing her emotions in her writing.

Over the past twenty years Colleen has developed a deep personal relationship with God. Approximately ten years ago she began to write songs focusing on God''s greatness, His grace, His amazing love for us, and His gift to us of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ.

Early in 2006, nine of her contemporary Christian songs were recorded at Sounpark Studios with Jamie Foulds engineering and Stephen Muise producing. The title of the CD is "Once For All". The musicians and backup vocalists featured on her CD are all local artists including her husband Ron Leadbeater on drums, her son Eric Burke on bass, and her brother Eddie Burke and sister Lucina Thibodeau doing some of the backup vocals.

Colleen plans to continue to write and perform songs glorify God and spread the Good News for as long as He leads her to do so.
