I am a https://www.tradebit.com music has a Country feel, considered to be more traditional Country than some of the pop styles we hear today. My music is about the experiences that we all have on our journey through life. Some songs are sad, some hopeful, others are happy, and some are thought provoking. If you like Country Music, then this CD is for you !
The first song on the CD tells how the inspirations happen, and the rest of the music you''ll hear is ''dance friendly'' and, ''easy listening''.
I''ve been writing songs for about three years now. The idea for the album title comes from the wonderful view we enjoy overlooking ''Departure Bay'' in Nanaimo B.C. where I reside with my husband.
I have entered many competitions, mostly ''Song of the Year'' out of Houston Texas, where I have placed respectively in the runners up category with every song I''ve entered, however twice, one of my songs featured on this CD ''Ain''t it Funny'' has placed in the top five. Once in October of 2007 and again in April of 2008. ''The Drums of War'' which has been entered in Septembers round, (results aren''t in yet) has had very high reviews in the critique feedback,
I have the added pleasure of having my son add his expertise with two of the songs on this CD. He plays the keyboard on the ''Casavant Waltz'', a song I wrote in memory of my Parents. The other piece ''The Shores of Departure Bay'', he adds his wonderful talent on the guitar riff, he has done an admiral job on both pieces. On ''The Drums of War'' my Grandson, who is a poet in his own right, has given his input with the lyrics for this ballad which as I mentioned earlier, has had very strong reviews by the judges at ''Song of the Year''.
I enjoy writing and singing, and sincerely hope that you will enjoy the results of my efforts when you listen to the songs on my CD ''More Songs from The Shores of Departure Bay''.
