Since bursting on to the San Francisco scene three years ago, mission mile have not only established themselves as one of the city''s most exciting live bands, but continue to release music that defies expectations and challenges the listener.
This four-piece band creates a spellbinding combination of beautifully crafted songs and explosive delivery reminiscent of Coldplay, U2 and Radiohead.
Formed by the remnants of various West Coast bands, the members of mission mile achieve that all too uncommon musical alchemy: creating something precious and unique from bass, drums, guitar and voice. Singer Eric L. Davis weaves words and melodies of raw emotion through the at once shimmering and brooding strings of Dylan Brock''s guitar, while drummer Conor Maguire and bassist Robert TeitelBaum nail down a rhythmic foundation of equal parts power and groove.
mission mile''s first EP "make me famous" (2001) is the opening salvo of a band committed to making music infused with both lyrical gravity and pop sensibility. The follow-up, 2002''s "up with the light", produced by Todd Herfindal, built on that foundation with songs that swim together to create the sensation of a moody, full-length album. With ''radio in color'' (2004) the band has once again teamed up with Herfindal in Los Angeles to produce and EP that not only confirms their dedication to song craft and performance but also captures some of the intensity of their live show.
Already in 2004, the band has headlined both The Great American Music Hall and Slim''s, two of San Francisco''s most prestigious music venues and is currently working on summer shows throughout California. The band will also be returning to Hollywood to continue recording songs for a full-length record in the fall of 2004.
