It’s The King Baby!!
King Carter, Born Daud Carter was raised on the crime lled streets of the Westside of Charlotte,
to a single mother who worked and attended school while taking care of King and his sister.
His mother worked diligently to instill the proper values in King and keep him out the streets. King
was an exceptionally smart child, So smart that his elementary school received extra grant money
just for him attending. But King Carter didn’t use his smarts for school, instead he used it to create
crowd moving raps and to outsmart the law by making money in the streets.
King along with T-Gangsta and Young Prince formed Charlotte’s street legendary group Young South.
They put out two mixtapes , “Boss Up Vol. 1” & “Before The Deal”. They sold 13 thousand of both through
the Southeast region. They performed at clubs across the city of Charlotte, creating a major buzz with
locals and the club promoters. They created a following of loyal fans, who attended every event with
their name on it.
King Carter along with Face created the label Young South Entertainment,
With the goal in mind that they are not like the average Indie Label but considered themselves to be a
Major Indie Label. With a Roster of 12 Signed Hip Hop Artist and a 43 person sta street team. It wasn’t
hard to set themselves aside from the https://www.tradebit.com main focus of the label was the group Young South,
but the direction changed as their lives did. King Carter wanted to focus more on the business aspect
of the music, so he sat back and tried pushing and motivating artist on the label for 2 years before he
became fed up with the lack of dedication. King decided that he himself would be the front man for
the Young South Ent. Movement.
King Carter created the concept of “The No Choice Campaign” where he parallels himself and album
promotion with the presidential election. King Carter refers to himself as the young Barak Obama
using his campaign phrase, “I didn’t have no choice but to make this and you aint got no choice but
to love this”. He targets the crowd of people who survive through the struggle, and live by the phrase
“By Any Means Necessary”.
