Monkeynut, Faces review. By, Jade Blizzy Boston, https://www.tradebit.com, September 9, 2002

"After listening to the Monkeynut compact disc recording called, "FACES", I was awe struck. Monkeynut has a sound and look all of their own. These guys know how to write great music that will stand the test of time. Monkeynut comes from the Columbus Ohio and has many recordings under their belt. These guys not only make good music, they also give the people something to see. They paint their faces which glows under a few black lights. In a time where a lot of bands look like your next door neighbors and put out bland sounding music, Monkeynut will save the day. [Monkeynut] has worked very hard, and after listening to their https://www.tradebit.com stuff, you can tell. Known as nu-metal/emo, Monkeynut is truly all heart and soul. The music has a powerful groove, the lyrics are deep and will take you down to a far away place, that you might be afraid to go to. Monkeynut has graced the stage with a few different national acts, such as, Static X-Earshot-Coal Chamber and many more. Monkeynut is headed for the big time. and I suggest you catch them now before they leave out."

CD - Monkeynut Faces . Review by: Tom McCarthy, https://www.tradebit.com, August 28, 2002

"Faces smacks you in the face (how fucking lame was that?!?!?!) with thirteen tracks...The disc kicks-off with "Help Me", a really cool, groovy little rocker that gets the head going and a smile cracking across my face, followed by "Just a Dream" [The song] "Inside", which is my favorite tune off the disc: [is] heavily influenced by nu-metal; thick, chunky, and grooves like a mother fucker. It''s not all chunk and groove make, there''s a lot more depth to it than that. "Swollen" is piano-driven ballad, same with "Losing". Shit so different that my jaw hit the floor when I heard it. Or the moody "Feel My Fate". Or better yet, the nu-metal power ballad "Open Wide". The disc allows Monkeynut to show their many faces. (fucking lame again!) There''s a lot to pick from in the way of music on here. There''s some extremely good music on here. Many feelings, emotions, and just ball-kicking good times...Bottom Line - After all is said and done, it''s a good disc."

The whole black light thing is awesome, it only tells me and an ass load of others that not only do you guys bust your asses to write good, but you want to give something to the people''s eyes when your on stage. That is saying a lot- thanks you for entertaining my ears and eyes Monkeynut." --Jade Blizzy Boston --Website guest book entry, September 5, 2002

--"Hey, we were at Fitzapalooza, and you guys took the entire show by storm. I was blown away by every freakin aspect of your show, the look, the sound, the delivery. You are ON it."--Nan Mitch, Hotbox (Dayton, Ohio band), Website guestbook entry, June 11, 2000

--"Monkeynut takes a palette of intensity and paint a vivid picture of aggression flourished with vast influences and heavy groove on this album, so if you''re looking for a solid piece of art that flows from instinct, then this might just be your next purchase."
