Assemblent«ex-Dawn», started out as a group of friends with no previous musical projects. Back in 1998 they played together grunge, rock and metal covers just for fun and to play some gigs, most of them at local clubs.
The original line up was Daniel Campos«guitar»; Carlos Santos«bass»; César Bento«drums; and later Sérgio Marques«vocals»; Tânia Gaspar played keyboards for a few months. And that was it until 2002, when they began to create something of their own and original in the Metal genre.
In the same year Pedro Lopes joins the band as the new keyboardist. His task was to fill the "void" in the songs. The band always felt that need, particularly in live performances.
New ideas kept blooming and the ambition of recording with professional quality was stronger. In 2003 at Estúdio Zero in Tomar-Portugal the first demo was recorded with an extremely tight budget. Only two songs were recorded«Heartwork & Silent Cries».
Assemblent''s sound gathers varied influences, reflection of the distinctive personalities of its members. Even though, bands such as CARCASS / MOONSPELL / MY DYING BRIDE surface as the mainstay. The result is a Death / Thrash Metal atmospheric approach with melodic instrumental elements.
In 2004 they gig at some band contests and small festivals throughout Portugal, sharing their time between college, work and rehearsals.
With the valuable help of Miguel Fonseca«THORMENTOR/MOFO/PLASTICA/BIZARRA LOCOMOTIVA] as producer they recorded 10 songs one of them featuring Fernando Ribeiro«Moonspell» as lead singer. Colin davis«Vile» at Imperial Mastering was chosen for the final mastering. Assemblent is not joking, they writhed a very mature and solid album! The CD was released in a luxurious edition with a track including a video clip.

"...That’s not all. An Industrial feel, processed vocals, Gothic elements, keyboard melodies and a generally somber mood prevail throughout the album. Speaking of which, MOONSPELL’s Fernando Ribiero (vocalist) makes a guest appearance on “Silent Cries”, with his very dark and quite voice singing the verses, a contrast to the violent choruses.
The gritty production also works in the band’s favour, as it gives “Equilibrium” a very raw feel, despite the obvious sophistication to the music.
Not bad for a bunch of friends who originally got together to play a bunch of covers.
