FOLK: Folk Pop, COUNTRY: Traditional Country

Details:
After the release of Molly Irene''s first album Sing For You she went to Ireland to tour about, singing songs with every opportunity. Since her return to the states she remained in her hometown (St. Louis, Missouri) working hard performing and writing for the next Molly installment Sunday Sometimes.

Ireland inspired Molly to further pursue her music career. Some of the friends she made there (along with Molly''s father) planted the idea to move to Nashville. So for three more St. Louis years she experimented with a variety of genres soaking up the muse of collaborative efforts. Ironically, some old buddy''s invited her to participate in a weekly session of Bluegrass music. The essence of Bluegrass and the spirit it invoked triggered a deeper understanding of the history of roots music. On the flip side Molly was also experimenting with a Police cover band, a couple roots/folk duos, traditional Irish, music ministry, and rock. Each avenue appeared to be a diversion from the other, but in the end the sounds had merged in the creation of Sunday Sometimes.

Molly found herself writing songs with a band in mind. Each song called for different musicians she had worked with in her ten years as a St. Louis musician. Every song fell into another genre. One song had an alternative appeal ("Guilty Party", "Global Static", "Danger") while another had a Johnny Cash country appeal ("Bag the Bad Boy"). She included a St. Louis down home blues lament ("Morning Lament"), the upbeat blues rock ("Where You Are"), a Meat loafing ;) acoustic to rock tune ("Love Again"), inspirational-alternatives ("Cocoon", "Beggars Cathedral"), the jazz rockin favorite ("Wait") and the remake of the Sing For You songs ("I am a Tree" and New Orleans piano infused "Standing on the Cusp").

It took a certain personality to allow what followed. Molly called long time musician colleague and friend to help with the enormous undertaking. Casey Hunter furnished his home studio with 21 different St. Louis musicians within one year while maintaining his own hectic tour schedule. Not only did he record the album but also he played the majority of the bass tracks and mixed the entire album brilliantly! Let us not forget the Sing For You artists: Michael Huber with Paradigm New Media Group on the outstanding graphics, Daniel Huber on that stellar photography and Brad Sarno''s solid mastering.

The cd rocks! It was released in May 2004, three years after Sing For You. Molly has upcoming local television appearances with the album not to mention a tour in the spring and a revised website in the fall. She now resides in Nashville (at last) embracing the influence of a new environment for her songwriting.
