Mullet Hunters

The Mullet Hunters are pleased to announce the release of their first album -- "Going Somewhere?" - and for good reason. Since the band first joined together a little over Three years ago, they''ve made an impressive name for themselves. "It started as kind of a joke," notes singer/dancer/guitarist/trumpeter Kit Butz, "We got together to play a St. Patrick''s Day gig with a week''s worth of practice and the thing just took off." That it did. Within a few short months the Mullet Hunters had chosen a name and were booked for some of the biggest weekends of the season at some of Wisconsin''s most visible venues. Since then, the band has had regular shows around Wisconsin and now leads a smitten group of fans who can''t seem to get enough.

So who are the Mullet Hunters? Well, they''re five regular guys who have an irregular aplomb for blending a variety of musical styles into an energized several-hour show. Jeremy Ballistic, the lead singer and penny whistler with a strong affinity for Motley Crue-style hard rock, spent years in school studying recording engineering and audio technology. Kit Butz, recognized by his oft-bleached hair and stage antics, brings more of the 90''s punk influence to the band with his spirited vocals, guitar playing, and trumpeting.

Kevin C. Fingers draws from the Dylan side of the musical spectrum with his guitar, vocal, and trombone contributions. His band-mates credit his talent (or "slap technique," as they say) to the fact that he has unusually huge fingers, but it''s a good guess that the real talent goes deeper. Sean Murphy, like Ballistic, also graduated with a strong music background. As the band''s lead guitarist, he''s known for his "speed licks" and "fast and furious" style.

And last but not least is Freddy-the shirtless Swedish drummer. Freddy took about ten years away from music in order "to follow Ace of Base," but appears to be having no problem getting back into it.

The new album "Going Somewhere?" signifies a break from the Mullet Hunters'' cover-song past. Song titles like "Stand On Your Own," "Waiting," "One More Drink," "and "Let the Songs Begin" can only give a taste of what to expect, but if what we''ve learned about the Mullet Hunters so far means anything, it''s sure not to disappoint.
