MP3 mudwerks - The String

Neo-70''s rock meets dark humored, trashy pop which subsequently runs head-on into folk-alternative.

10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: 70''s Rock, POP: Quirky

Details:
What sounds like the Wallflowers time-traveling back to the 1970''s to incorporate the intellectual strangeness of Todd Rundgren and the moody grooves of early Dire Straits?

I don''t know...maybe Supergrass? Maybe not, but if you''ve read this far, ''The String'' by Mudwerks, might interest you.

Listen to the haunting slide work on ''The Stranger'' and ''This World'', or the wah-fueled guitar crunch of ''Green Lantern''. Check out the growling vocals on ''Dark Side'', with its clever lyrical take on current sociological issues paralleled with the ''Star Wars'' mythology.

Vocalist Andrea Garcia soars on the Celtic tones of ''The Sparrow'', and smoothly drives the Latin beat of ''Down the Ravine'' (which contains a rare English-language reference to Chupacabra, the highly feared goat-killing monster of Mexican legend).

Jim Miller has been playing in bands since 1969, and writing music almost as long.

In and out of numerous bar bands located in Tucson, Arizona (USA) during the 1980''s, he eventually grew weary of playing cover songs and started to pursue and develop his own unique musical ideas.

Writing music, and organizing a succession of bands to perform it, he found little success in the local music scene and retired from performing to pursue writing and recording.

Inspired by the Sonoran desert, and by southwestern culture, Jim Miller''s music contains many references (both musically and lyrically) to the local environment.
