Details:
UK rockers with a good memory might well recall Snowblind, Icemon,Quest, Moritz and If Only who, back in the 80’s and 90’s, rocked the scene with many an appearance at popular venues. Therefore, one could say that the debut album from Hartless, ‘Full Circle’, was fully 25 years in the making.

Hartless deliver a fresh but familiar take on classic rock pioneered by the likes of Thin Lizzy, UFO and Kiss. However, it’s noticeable that Greg Hart’s songwriting craft has developed along the way and you only have to look at his back catalogue to see why. His highly acclaimed AOR band ‘If Only’ brought his talents to the fore and allowed him to write alongside Asia’s Geoff Downes, ‘Barcelona’ hit writer Mike Moran/Freddie Mercury and Pete Sinfield.

“Once a rocker always a rocker and having been locked in a studio for most of the 80’s and 90’s, releasing two albums with ‘GTS’ I was itching to get back out there and play live,” continued Greg, “and when top Thin Lizzy tribute act ‘Limehouse Lizzy’ offered the gig I just couldn’t resist.”

However, after years of relentless touring Greg felt it was time to change: “I had to leave. Much as I love Thin Lizzy I was a songwriter and the frustration of not recording was now way out of control. So after seven years, and a million guitar solos later, it was time to go in search of the players who could help me achieve the ‘album I always wanted to do’. A classic 70s style rock album. The album I wanted to hear in 2007.

“I already knew in my mind the musicians I wanted to join me. The ones I felt could capture the spirit of what I had in mind.” Greg recruited guitarist, Marty Wells and bassist Ray Edmunds, both former band colleagues and crazy Thin Lizzy fanatics and superb musicians. The old line-up was back! Nearly. Enter Mick Van Dell, the drummer who had first played with Greg in 1985 after the tragic death of their founder drummer Gary Kelly. The picture was now complete and the fun was just about to begin.

Recording began in early 2007 at Marty’s ‘Harmony Factory’ recording studio in Sussex and soon all the musical ideas that had been dormant for so long flooded out. With Martyat the helm, It was clear this album was going to be the finished dream that started way back as kids in 1980 but launched into to the multi media era that is 2007.

So why ‘Full Circle’? Greg explains: “Our lives have taken such diverse paths for a quarter of a century. Just the fact we have all managed to stay alive, well, and enthusiastic about our music is a testament to us as all as individuals. And now, as a new band that has found a zest for life and the hunger to deliver our music to the digital world.”
