Hailing from Southern California, HONG KONG SIX have embedded themselves into the hearts of a loyal OC/LA fanbase that has been building steadily over the past 4 years, leading HONG KONG SIX to being nominated the past two years in a row for "Best Indie Band" and "Best Live Band" at the Orange County Music Awards, winning "Best Local Band" in Squeeze OC magazine and winning "Best Rock Band" at the House of Blues Battle Of The Bands.
HONG KONG SIX are literally a family that has lived under the same roof for years. Darren (vocals, guitar) and Jeff (guitar) are brothers and Riley (drums) is their cousin. Rounding out this tight-knit crew are Carlos (bass) and Alisa (vocals, synth) who are actually husband and wife. HK6''s family bond is reflected in their tight sound, explosive live shows and in their shared gift of having an almost compulsive knack for constantly writing songs.
HONG KONG SIX’s new record, “Once Upon A Time in the West”, is an example of how this band likes to get to the point quickly. The 10 songs on “Once Upon A Time in the West” are quick bursts of energy that rarely clock in over 3 minutes. No filler. No long intro’s. Just 10 songs with a big rock sound, laced with punk rock attitude, bouncing rhythms and a stream of catchy, sing-a-long melodies that dare to stick in your head for days.
