The music of Farmboy is a celebration of and a tribute to early 20th century genres - from the blues of Nehemiah "Skip" James and R&B of Lil Green - to the gentle mountain music of the Carter Family and the country innovations of Hank Williams. Later influences, such as southern rock slide guitarist Duane Allman and composers Ry Cooder and Randy Newman are also present.
Classically trained musician and Broadway conductor S. Cosmo Mallardi and veteran guitar performer Richie Saccente have collaborated to produce a soundtrack that is both contemporary and steeped in American music tradition. On April 1, 2007 they were awarded an Emmy® by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for their efforts on Farmboy.
