MP3 ned henry - the last resort

A 2 disc set of songs that, like early Dave Matthews, David Gray and Jack Johnson, is full of songs that are just awesome.

25 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Americana, ROCK: Acoustic

Details:
Along with lyrical genius/ social miscreant/ gonzo hedonist Whitney Lester, this artist cut his teeth and broke down all the barriers in the Norfolk, Va. bands "The Last Resort" and the splitoff "Haitian Resort" in the ''80s. Years after its legendary demise in 1992, Ned Henry has emerged from the wreckage of notoriously riotous East Coast phenomenon The Incredibly Drunk Brothers Band with this 25-song/ 2-CD set of original material called "The Last Resort." The music on this album is sonically rich and varied in both its style and subject matter. The emphasis this time around is on the songwriting. The songs are fresh and wholly unique but reminiscent of early Dave Matthews, David Gray, Jack Johnson, Robert Earl Keen and (very) early Jimmy Buffett without being derivative of any of these fine songwriters. REVIEWS FOR SOME OF THE SONGS ON "THE LAST RESORT"

This song made me smile...
"Overall a fun song and something you could dance to. Also has a very lighthearted feel with all the upstrokes. I found the lyrics funny at times and your outro was perfect with the bass and the tuba sound. Awesome!"
Warrensburg, Missouri

Flip Floppin''
"...the hook is brilliant a colourful song with great insightful lyrics...makes me think -the band...love the flip flop line...a great summer mood song ...alls I need is a beer to go with the great guitars in this song"
Baltimore, Maryland

Very Nice!!!!!
"The vocals are very cool and smooth. I like the acoustic guitar. The lyrics sound heartfelt. The melody is pleasing to the ear. The percussion is good. The mood is relaxed, reflective and dreamy. To me this song has a very nice George Harrison vibe. I enjoyed the song a lot---thanks for the listen!"
Macon, Georgia

lazin and grooving
"This kind of reminds me of the beach boys and CSNY. cool mixture! Nice vocals - and the guitars are just twangy enough to work without being annoying! Good work! The longer I listen the more I hear the likes of Beck and Pheonix Foundation. This is fresh and funky in an acoustic way!"
Bedfordshire/Waikato, United Kingdom

Mellow Acoustic Sound
"I dig the mellow acoustic sound of this band...I love the beginning of this song and how it builds up the climax...this song would be great for a long board surfing video..."
New Jersey

Goovy
"I love this style and there''s some good songwriting here also. This guy has a great voice. Somebody hand me a beer. I wanna kick back and get my chill on.....
Montgomery, Alabama

Fun frets
"Got that Leon Redbone feel and banjo sound. Tight, easy-going strumming and husky, memorable vocals. Good for settling in with a couple of brewskis and singing along. Very nice job."
Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Great Beat
"Sounds like the Grateful Dead or Phish with the guitar work, original drum beat and meshing piano. The intro is great, the most mellow part of the song, but gets the listener ready for the rest of the song. The guitar work is so Deadish style with the solo ending on a completely different note than expected. The incoming drums and tambourine/hi hat are great choice. Great music make more you definitely have a future, in the 70s you would have been king..."
Libertyville, Illinois

Creative
"I loved the percussion used in throughout. I really liked the chord progressions and how they changed with each new section of the song. Overall this whole arrangement has this great unique feel and the ending with the banjo sound is great! I kind of feel like I am sitting in a rocking chair on big porch in the summertime."
Warrensburg, Missouri

Great
"...I love the big toms and harmony vocals. Great guitars. It''s like "Tusk" by Fleetwod Mac played by Modest Mouse, which is awesome. ..the arrangements are smart and strong and there''s a good groove throughout and that''s what matters.
Astoria, New York

Loose, man! Loose!
"I can''t think of anything I DON''T like about this song. You must have caught me in a good mood. But DAMN this is good stuff. Lyrics: Nice to hear someone tell a story from time to time. Humor too...how unusual! Nice work. The whole thing sounds loose, like it''s being sung around one microphone live. I think that loose, improvised and live sound is what many bands try for but never hit. This NAILED it! Nice work!"
Lawrence, Kansas
