"Never Let Me Go" is nothing if not compelling, with some of the greatest composers in jazz, including Clifford Brown, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Johnny Mercer and Jerome Kern. It includes an exceptional group of musicians, showcasing the piano chops of San Francisco''s late and great Al Plank as well as Vermont''s own Bruce Sklar. Sacramento''s virtuoso guitarist, Steve Homan, is off the hook backing Nicols'' voice and kicks his wizardry around all over the place. Also from Sacramento is the charismatic drummer, Jimmy Robinson. Then we''ve got talented acoustic bassists, Scott Steed of Portland, Oregon and Clyde Stats from Vermont. Now that''s what I''m talkin about.

Like the artist herself, this debut CD is full of sensuality and surprise. Nicols has produced a first class album for a brand new Vermont Label, Polkadot Records. Three classic tunes are recorded live with a sextet and the other seven standards relay the intimacy of a trioand duo. Although "Never Let Me Go" is a soothing remedy for what ails you, don''t be fooled. It''s not cocktail hour. This girl can truly swing.

Two years later she moved to Tokyo, immersing herself into the art, music and traditional culture of Japan''s rich heritage. Her favorite thing to do was to sit in with various jazz bands at the the now famous "Shinjiku Inn" and the "Pitt Inn".

Inspired, focused and ready to work, she returned to America and settled in New Orleans, Louisiana. Here, Adele began studying with then Columbia Recording Artist, Ellis Marsalis, and soon got her first regular piano gig at the French Quarter''s famous Fairmont Hotel.

Although she would later return to the piano, her new reputation as a jazz singer was quickly noticed and her fan base acquired a life of it''s own.

Another change took Nicols on the road again, this time to northern California. There she studied with the legendary jazz vocalist, Mark Murphy and she became widely known as an extraordinary singer with great intonation and fresh interpretations of song.

Giving birth to two more children Adele remained devoted to both motherhood and music. Though her marriage soon ended, she was able to provide for her family by singing at night, spending the days with her children.
