How It Started
Unlisted Reality was formed 5 years ago at a birthday party. Booker & J-Riss were life long friends and always loved to sing. Booker came from a family of talent with his sister Toni Hill (from Sirens Echo) and his cousin Lucc (rapper/singer from Kant B Caught). J-Riss was apart of other local groups in the 90’s (Deverse, Reality & Unlisted), which helped honed his talents. JG could always sing but was working on a rap album when the three met.
They talked about their passion for singing and how much they wanted to make a change in Portland since it was heavily saturated with the rap game. So they practiced to seek out any type of unity or bond. After the 2nd practice, they decided to join forces and Unlisted Reality was born.
With a shared passion of R&B, and inspired by musical greats such as New Edition, Boyz II Men, and The Temptations (just to name a few), they got to work. The road has been fun; but not easy! With having to fund their own project, their long awaited album has been pushed back several times due to life changes.
The Music
With J-Riss & JG being the writers of the group and Booker blending the harmonies, the arrangements were and are classic, allowing them to express vocal stories about fun, pain, loss, and love. Their hard work eventually paid off with spins on the local hip-hop FM radio station 95.5 (now known as 107.5). Their song “One More Try” was played for several weeks on the stations “Slow Jams & Dedications” show hosted by Kristina (now with Z-100).
Other songs came along: “Finally!”, “You’re Not Happy”, and “Rock My Body” all appear on their profile page on Myspace. Fans old and new can expect Unlisted Reality’s album to be well worth the wait, with more heat coming from these three men. The long awaited album “Episode 1…..”Finally!, proves they belong to be heard everywhere!
While their journey has been long, it’s just the beginning. Their strength, focus and determination has held up against the demands of this excruciating business. Unlisted Reality’s music has vowed to stay true to the meaning of their name: “Dream Songs of Life; Filled with Harmony!” Soon the rest of the world will know!
