Sudan Life is one of the members of a production duo called The Nightshift (Rasheen is the other member). Born and raised in Jamaica, Queens, NY, (moved to D.C and now resides in Maryland) music has always been the way of life. R&B, jazz, and especially Hip-Hop. Back in the early 90''s when Sudan was around his cousin, Kahil who was pursuing a music career with a rap group called Inamuv, but stopped due to the dissatisfaction of the business. Sudan wanted to continue the dream of making music that his cousin helped spark in him. Now he is trying to fine tune his sound and skill by producing diverse genres of music.
"Hip-Hop is my main love, but I was put onto jungle/drum and bass. At first I couldn''t understand it, but when I kept listening to the different artists and styles over a period of time, I loved it... It taught me as a producer you must learn to open your mind and have that musical ear all of us producers have. With this music it is so experimental that you can run and get creative with it. This CD is experimental for me because I wanted to do something different".
